We've played SLU, LA Tech and a historically horrible Ole Miss defense. A real defensive gauntlet there

I think o is meddling. That max protect screams orgeron. Max protection will make a bad o line look even worse by forcing the qb to hold on to the ball longer.

Modern offenses spread them out take guys out of the box and force the defense to show their hand sooner.

Agreed.

Steve calls a good game until he needs to call plays after adjustments are made. Then he is bad.

We were afraid to throw the ball too much because of #99 for Florida. I thought we should have thrown the ball 45 times to win that game. We let one guy win the game for Florida.

I get that there are some plays where the line just gets beat so badly that the play call won’t work no matter what. And I get that we ran some screens and some quick passes and that our receivers struggle to catch the ball. All of that said, I still think the play calling was dogshit after the first couple of drives.

Defense has its issues too, although I think that’s more on an individual position coaching level. The D-line can’t pass rush, linebackers not named White and Phillips can’t tackle, and the secondary is dogshit in coverage, for the most part.

The coaches sucked and the players sucked on both sides of the field. And Orgeron obviously deserves enormous blame for that. I just can’t stress enough how poorly we played in that game all around.

I think so too, especially after the Canada situation last year.

He promoted a yes man to OC so he could meddle and get away with it.

I didn't understand the hire and still do not.

LSU should be a place innovative and top shelf coaches want to be a part of with all the talent available.

Ensminger has never been a sought after coach.

You guys use the same excuse every year. That was the excuse for Miles too. All teams have issues to deal with. Some make the playoffs. We don’t.

It worked first half of the first game so well, because no one knew what to expect.

Against Auburn, they struggled and if not for some serious luck in the second half, we lose that game and the offense continues its shitty second half streak.

Every other game, LSU struggled in the 2nd half because teams adjusted to it. Now LSU is going to face teams with more talent and better DCs the rest of the season. It's only going to get harder and likely the offense will continue to look less and less successful even in first halves.

What about the rest of the facts posted? Last year's squad had a veteran OL. This year is all patchwork and no feature RB like Guice.

We've played a worse Auburn team this year, and scored less points on them.

We scored 2 more points against UF than last year.

We scored roughly the same against BYU as we did against Miami.

We scored 5 more points against a significantly worse Ole Piss defense this year than last year. LSU still has not faced the toughest part of the schedule and last year Orgeron interfered with Canada's playcalling. He supposedly isn't doing it this year.

I'd say that all those factors, plus all of you Burrow-philes saying he's the greatest QB ever would stop belittling his value to this year's team so much. If he was in place of Etling last year, do you think things are the same?

LSU also had Guice playing injured much of the season, so acting like he was significantly better the full season than Brossette has been so far is a bit misleading.

I'm not sure what the problem is, but this along with QB development seems to be an LSU trend no matter who is on staff.

One thing we gotta do is stop with the slow developing running and passing plays. When your OL is not that good, you can’t run all those slow developing plays. It seems like it takes us forever just to get back to the LOS on running plays. Our QB is getting clobbered waiting for people to come all the way across the field on a drag route to get open.

We need to play way faster on offense. Quick hitters, quick slants and quick outs. Surely one of our 10 consultants can help us with that. Everyone from here on out is going to tee off on us from the edge. We better adjust quickly.

You protect inside out and he picked up the inside guy. Fla was bringing two on the back side and SE didn't have answer, plain and simple.

very true, they never adjusted to bring a RB or TE over there to pick up the other guy, with the alignment it was something they had to adjust to and yet they never did.

you cant block 2 rushers with only 1 guy yet they tried to do that all day long.

i wasnt trying to blame it all on the RB when they were in poor alignment due to coaching, i was only referring to the times when they did have a good alignment, and yet the RB went the other way instead of reading the defensive alignment and maybe that isnt up to him, but when leaving a rusher coming free untouched from the QB left, you cant run screens and slow developing plays, thats 100% bad coaching

The Ensminger No-ffense? I keed, I keed.

It's pretty underwhelming in reality. I'm not expecting it to get better either. By now, we know what we have. It's averaging a respectable 31 points per game.

Neither is Orgeron.

We have a head coach and an OC that no other school in a power 5 conference would even entertain hiring.

Let that sink in for a moment. Neither one of them will ever be lured away from LSU by employment elsewhere.
