You don't have to like Boise State, but if you can't see how well coached these guys are, how gutty they play, shame on you, you are really missing something special. These guys are a bunch of Rudy's running around playing with heart, not for a paycheck. Most are guys the big schools didn't want. If we had this kind of imaginative play calling and coaching who knows how good we could be. With the talent we have in this state its a crime, a crime for our program to be in the shape its in. Our reputation drops a little more every week and it kills me and every intelligent fan on this site.

They had all Summer to prepare for that one game because they no after that game they have no one else on their schedule that can beat them as long as they stay focused. Plus they have all Seniors and Juniors on that team and it makes it easier for them to stay focused.

If all LSU had to worry about was the game they just played LSU would go undefeated also with their schedule. So get over all the reasons for this and that about the Tigers. All they got tonight was the one win and that one win is their whole season not like all the teams in BCS Conferences and they barely got that win.

Wait, he has a gimicky offense?

I haven't seen any trick/gimmick plays since '07. I'm guessing he tore out those pages and wrote the option play on the remaining pages...... over and over and over and over

2007:

We had 16 turnovers, they had 21.

We had 117 penalties for 880 yards (62.9 yds/gm), they had 92 penalties for 828 yards (63.7 yds/gm).

At what point am I going to start seeing Peterson's teams be much better than Miles' teams in these categories?

Should I keep going or do you want to just go ahead and admit you are talking out of your arse with this penalty/turnover angle?

Actually I never mentioned anything about a penalty/turnover angle. I was talking about being DISCIPLINED. Discipline goes way beyond just turnovers and penalties. It deals with those 2 as well as, not dropping footballs, making stupid mistakes at the QB position or any position for that matter, missed tackles, fumbles, INT's, blown offensive & defensive assignments, not making bone head personal foul penalties that end up costing your team a chance at victory, etc.

i doubt we would have been playing our second teamers in the second half if they were

If they all played the score wouldn't have been 30-10 at half time.

If I posted on this site that the earth were round there would be some who would argue. If you can;t see that we are underachieving as a football team you are blind. We have talent which by in large has done very little in the NFL in recent years with exception of Early Doucette. Why is that? They come here as 4 and 5 star guys and leave here not nearly where they need to be. Thats not coming from me, thats coming from NFL scout Chris Landry who has forgotten more about football than the vast majority of readers in this site. The program is slowly slipping in to mediocrity, you have 2 choices voice your displeasure and hope the right ($) people hear it. Or live in your little world where Les Miles won a NC, or rather didn't lose it and let him off the hook for running our beloved program directly in to 4th place in the WEST.

Petersons teams run the offense better than LSU's players run the offense. Their 2 and 3 star players are pretty good at playing defense and overachieving as well. Peterson does more with the talent he has than Miles, at the present time. Don't think anyone can honestly dispute this. This year we will see how far the team has come along.

Like your own teammates causing you to fumble, running into the kicker, three personal foul penalties that continued drives, a block in the back on your last chance to win the game, dropped passes in the flat with 20+ yards of open field? Right?

I'll give you a guess who committed all of these tonight.

You're right on Golfer. But you still don't get my point. You are talking about what happened tonight because it's all you have to go on because it's what have you done for me lately memory check. LSU has been undisciplined every since Miles has been here, it's almost a week in week out theme and very much a year in year out theme. Boise on the other hand? Ahh not so much

You may not have brought it up, but you definitely made this reply to the comment about them having 11 penalties tonight:

Your point? Boise doesn't do that week in and week out and season in and season out. LSU under Miles on the other hand.... does

Boise State does not run a gimicky offense but, like a cornered animal, will do whatever is necessary to win. I don't remember a single trick play all last year. There were times when we really could have used one to change momentum in a game. We are way too conservative, there is no need to be when you have a good defense our defense is very good, its well coached. I wish I saw the our guys overachieve like Boises thats all I am really saying. I think LSU could out athlete Boise but remeber this is a team game. The best team wins, its not about Sheppard, Peterson and Randle. Its about the team playing as a unit, as one I don't see that out of this group of youngsters.

You realize BSU was on National TV 8 times in the last 2 seasons, right?

LSU was shown 23 times in that same period.

I agree, but be careful in minimizing the relative level of competition. The skill of the opponent can cause an opponent to look undisciplined. I guess I am saying don't give BSU too much credit, look at what their last two coaches have done when the jumped to a major conference.

How is that relevant to the discussion Golfer? Every time I have watched Boise State I'm impressed with the coaching. Every time I watch LSU I'm not it's as simple as that. I'm a football coach myself and I know when I see a disciplined football team and program. LSU under Miles is not one. Nebraska under Pelini is one. LSU under Saban was one. Bama under Saban is one.
