re: is moscona stupid?

Muscona is informative, has great interviews and is funny. His mic is not set too high, he doggs soccer and soccer fans which is great and he is very sharp when it comes to LSU football!
Golfer your a 30 handicap in your views. It is Miles Job to prepare his players for a career in the NFL. Why do you think they come here? They come here to improve their skill set to go to the NFL and make millions thats the reason they come here. Being a Miles fan after the continual downward spiral is borderline insane. I think Miles is a nice guy, I really do, and thats fine if he is my neighbor but not someone who is at the wheel of the LSU Tiger reputation and future. He is a terrible evaluator of assistant coaches and has more lousy hires than Obama. He isn't intelligent and has no business coaching SEC football. He will be out after this season and will take the Colorado Job, he isnt good enough to take the Michigan job.

And how come he didn't light it into the guy who was flagged for the block in the back!?!? Why would he accept that kind of behavior??

Because it wasn't a block in the back! It was overturned and rightly so. Boise won the game with inferior talent, they played with heart. Go watch the movie Rudy sometime.
All outside Louisiana. He is a good recruiter. I will give him that 100 percent. But what good is recruiting if you can't further develop the players you have. Alabama and Florida can recruit worse than us and still have an advantage because they can develop personnel. We are doing a horrible job of developing talent. The number of guys drafted is going down and the guys arent making rosters. Charles Scott got cut from the cardinals today, I heard Big Herman Johnson got cut....
quote:

Petersen did nothing to impress me tonight.

Are you kidding? He went in to hostile territory against a team he wasn't supose to beat, according to most experts. His team made a ton of mistakes and still won against a team from a BSC conference. He did it with far less talent, they did it as a team. If you were looking for flash you were probably disappointed.

I think your getting a little too much sun down there in the virgin islands. Peterson and Boise are very impressive to watch. There the underdog the little guy, there whats great about sports and America
Every great coach has something there known for, parcels-defense, Walsh-west coast offense, Meyer-spread/read offense, Saban-defense and disguised blitzing. For all you Miles fans on here what exactly is his arena of expertise? I dont' want to hear recruiting because a blind person could recruit in Louisiana right now. What is his specialty and more importantly do you see our team excel in that area?
Boise State does not run a gimicky offense but, like a cornered animal, will do whatever is necessary to win. I don't remember a single trick play all last year. There were times when we really could have used one to change momentum in a game. We are way too conservative, there is no need to be when you have a good defense our defense is very good, its well coached. I wish I saw the our guys overachieve like Boises thats all I am really saying. I think LSU could out athlete Boise but remeber this is a team game. The best team wins, its not about Sheppard, Peterson and Randle. Its about the team playing as a unit, as one I don't see that out of this group of youngsters.
If I posted on this site that the earth were round there would be some who would argue. If you can;t see that we are underachieving as a football team you are blind. We have talent which by in large has done very little in the NFL in recent years with exception of Early Doucette. Why is that? They come here as 4 and 5 star guys and leave here not nearly where they need to be. Thats not coming from me, thats coming from NFL scout Chris Landry who has forgotten more about football than the vast majority of readers in this site. The program is slowly slipping in to mediocrity, you have 2 choices voice your displeasure and hope the right ($) people hear it. Or live in your little world where Les Miles won a NC, or rather didn't lose it and let him off the hook for running our beloved program directly in to 4th place in the WEST.
You don't have to like Boise State, but if you can't see how well coached these guys are, how gutty they play, shame on you, you are really missing something special. These guys are a bunch of Rudy's running around playing with heart, not for a paycheck. Most are guys the big schools didn't want. If we had this kind of imaginative play calling and coaching who knows how good we could be. With the talent we have in this state its a crime, a crime for our program to be in the shape its in. Our reputation drops a little more every week and it kills me and every intelligent fan on this site.
There QB is BETTER PREPARED! At the Manning Passing Camp everyone was dazzled with Jefferson's physical makeup but he hasn't been developed. Crowton's gimicky offense and lack of ability to develop a QB is the major problem with our team. Lets Fire Crowton and promote Gonzales right now. If we don't act quickly we could damage the best recruiting class in the last 20 years.
Ok Mot good stats Whats their teams stadium capacity? Whats their budget and our budget. We have similar stats but far better players and far inferior coaches? Would seem so. And how about the legendary play calls against OU in the Fiesta Bowl? Hook and Ladder, Statue of Liberty? Do you think Gary Crowtons Jehova Witness arse has any of those plays in his book?
I am a Boise Fan but an LSU Tiger first. Open your eyes a little! I guess I am anti LES Miles because I expect a better product for 4 million a season. If you think our program is in as good a shape as the program Miles inherited your just ignorant. This program has slipped, discipline has slipped, I am tired of firing and rehiring new assistants every other year, fix the real problem. How is Boise winning? We have better athletes? Come on geniuses?

I am not saying Boise could come in here and win but it is kind of fun to watch a team with inferior athletes band together overcome adversity and play together. I take that back I spent a couple grand watching UNC do that to us last week, that was not fun to watch. I threw up in my mouth watching the replay tonight.
How many turnovers and penalties did we have. Miles makes more than their entire coaching staff.
It was very clear tonight watching Boise State go in to a hostile territory and beat a good VT team, that Boise State is a well coached TEAM. Now we have far better players, no question, but Boise has a better team. They are coached light years better than we are and most profoundly play as a unit together.

You never hear of their recruiting classes. They are undersized but play with heart and emotion and they play for each other. The more I watch us play we are playing for the highlight reels. We are playing for the future NFL $ and not for the guy standing next to them. I agree its unfair that Boise plays a weak schedule but in any 1 game I would take this well coached team over our group of talented, poorly coached individuals.

We are just not as good as most of us think. This is a harsh reality than sooner or later most of us are going to have to get use to. We are 3rd or 4th best in the West. If your ok with paying a guy 4 million a year to run a team that way fine. I am not ok with it. With that pay comes some goddam responsibility! If your playing an inferior opponent you blow them out of the game. When this team was well coached we didn't let inferior opponents hang around we smashed them! Its great fro morale. Listen if your going to keep raising prices give the fans something! I like to see us stomp an occasional team, that doesn't happen anymore with this staff there is no killer instinct!

Public Opinion

Regardless of your opinion of betting games there were a lot of people that took a bath on LSU's futile performance against North Carolina. The Line opened at even was taken off the board then repoened at LSU minus 6.5 going all the way to LSU minus 10 prior to kickoff. That means millions and millions of dollars were bet on LSU because of the public perception that LSU should be able to stomp an undermanned opponent. The problem with this performance on National Television is that it severely damaged our reputation. You can call it a win if you want but it was a disgraceful performance that showed once again the total lack of discipline this team plays with. Turnovers and penalties are, by in large, a sign of unprepared teams. A game like this gives you some idea of how people get down on LSU. We represent the SEC when we play games like this and other fans of SEC schools expect us to be able to play to that high standard. This current staff is an embarrassment to the proud tradition of LSU Football. But it all makes sense when you think about it when your making 4 million a year where is the sense of urgency to do anything different! Les is Suffering from Jamarcus Russell syndrome.
I talked to him at a Gridiron event. He is very excited to be here, he is an intense coach much like saban, he demands precision. He only really has 1 returning started in Terrance Tolliver but I expect he is the best of the 3 new hires from a coaching standpoint. His time with Urban Meyer was well spent he learned a lot and will be an OC soon, like real soon. He is the best young coach on our staff by far!

Let me rephrase, I fuc_ing hate loosing but I realize you can't win every game, particularly when you have Crowton and Strwudumbass coaching.

First Play From Scrimage

With all this talk about the running game and the mathematical certainty that we will open the season with a run of 3 yards I have an idea. How about line up in 3 wide Shep, Tolliver, and Randle handoff to Murphy who pitches back to JJ, when is the last time LSU ever ran a flee flicker?

Even if it was incomplete I would be happier than a pig in shite that we tried something and took a chance. I don't mind losing I just want to see us going down swinging!
Schedule seems to dictate in the SEC, having a solid team doesn't hurt. Our schedule seems manageable, Tenn is down, UF is rebuilding defensively, Bama is here, Ark on the road is scary as is UNC, Wva is not what they use to be. I think there is reason to be optomistic! We are better coached; Gonzales,Wilson, and TE coach(debatable). We will have younger shiftier backs, Sheppard will play. I think we are quite a bit better than folks think. The QB play and running game were awful due to the O line, that can't be as bad as last year. With Gonzales's direction I think our passing game will be simplified and our WR's will really improve. There isn't a team in the nation with more talent at the WR position.

I realize its early but #16? That seems a litte harsh. The SEC is as wide open as I can remember. With Tebow gone, the coaching changes and loss of key defensive personnel UF is beatable. Everyone is on Bamas dic_ but there defense (which won most of their games for them) is decimated. Bama has 3 teams off a bye and plays us here. Seems like a lot of disrespect. If I am not mistaken I think we were #12 or #16 preseason in 2007? I know its an early poll but doesn't it feel like a little slap in the face?
