In 2005 LSU laid a beat down on Miami and that program hasn't been the same since.
In 2012 LSU meets Clemson and loses. LSU hasn't won anything since then.
ETA: Clemson has been on a rise following the 2012 Chick-Fil-A Bowl just like LSU after the 2005 game.

it's actually a really fun bowl to attend. i've been twice and it has been a nice way to spend new years eve/new years holiday.

Wikipedia says the Superdome is planning to host the bowl starting in 2017-18. Is that true or is that wiki news.
