dude, you do realize that the school makes no more money going to the cap one as it does to the cotton, right ?? the school doesn't get the money ... all the bowl payouts after traveling expenses from every school in every game is put in a pot and split 13 ways in the SEC .. basically, LSU gets the same money that vanderbilt does .. the only difference is that the better the bowl, the better the trip for the players, coaches, staff, and VIPs ... you have a little more money to spend on your travel party in the cap one than you do the cotton, but that's it ..
So, Cotton Bowl it is.

i have seen a number of people on here this week talking about how much more money each bowl means to the school .. they just don't get how it works ... the SEC has a set budget based on 8 schools being bowl eligible .. they know the payout each school will recieve to play in each bowl .. the only bonus comes when the SEC gets an extra BCS slot, like it should this year ... the team that plays in the title game gets $17 million, i believe, and you get $4.5 million for the second slot .. so you take the $4.5 million, minus travel expenses, and you have about $4 million split 13 ways .. basically an extra $270K or so for each school as gravy .. also, when there is 9 or more bowl eligibles and you fill all your spots plus an at large, you get a little extra too ..

That might be my only reason for wanting Orlando more.

This game is hard to watch. Those ridiculous cow bells are giving me a headache!! Although I would like LSU to go to the cotton bowl, I can NOT root for Ole Piss right now. Can't stand Houston Nutt!

a retard, how exactly ?? if retard = explaining how bowl payouts work in a conference, then i guess i am drooling, biting my arm, licking my hands and sticking it in the potato salad at sunday dinner then ..

Wonder where an OM loss and LSU win leaves the Cotton? They don't want the Rebs two years running.

So you'd rather go to a lower bowl for the team. Not get 2nd in the SEC West for the 9th time out of 10 years this decade simply because you want to go to Dallas?
Some of you fans have no perspective and are pretty damn selfish. The PLAYERS will have more fun in Orlando, I'll guarantee you that than freaking DALLAS in January.

the only major thing dallas has going for it is it would be a chance to play in the new jerrah world, which i understand is an unbelieveable stadium, otherwise, dallas will prolly be cold as frick on new year's day ..

for the players, the cap one bowl is EASILY a far better trip than the cotton bowl ..

The honest truth is that a Cap One bowl win and top 10 rankings means LSU met expectations this year.
You haters can't handle that prospect so that's what's really behind this nonsense.
Top 10 ranking
prestigious bowl win
top 10 recruiting class
all of this is still possible and that pisses negatigers off. Enjoy passive aggressively rioting against LSU tonight you losers.

No I will not be rooting against LSU. It's dickfaces like you who fail to see the bigger picture. I hope for the players that they get Cap One but don't think for a second it makes me happy to think that Les Miles might get saved by Miss State. That shite makes me sick.

LSU could win the Cotton Bowl, finish in the top 10, and it could help recruiting. All of the things you mentioned are still possible in Dallas.

nah, i am agreeing with you in that as a true fan you should rather go to the cap one .. it is a more prestigious bowl game (which is a crying shame for the cotton bowl since at one time it was one of the four "major" bowls) .. it is a better trip for the team .. and a win there over a penn state gives you a much nicer poll bump ... i was just explaining the fact that the difference in bowl payout just means nothing in LSU's pockets, that's all ..
