Can someone explain this to me? I’ve seen him get animated on the sidelines every game. He isn’t as fiery as he used to be in his younger days, but hell, neither is Saban.

The fact that he coaches the QB after each drive 1 on 1 is amazing to see as an LSU fan.

They also got mad when Saban threw temper tantrums on his players. They’re never happy.

Since you’ve seen the emotion, the crowd you speak of is obviously full of shite. The end.

Kelly gets on guys and goes nuts when needed. He had to chill out some because he used to go more nuts than any coach in college football and got shite for it at ND. He is more balanced now and that is likely a good thing.

He definitely is not just a figure head. He coaches out there.

Our fanbase got spoiled with Coach O slamming down his head set and tearing off his shirt.

You watched the coach for 60 minutes? That’s weird.
I couldn’t see his face from my seats, but I also was busy watching the game.

The idiots here think that if you aren't popping blood vessels in your head and looking like Will Muschamp you suck as a coach.

People are stupid.

Yeah, he was subdued then. I think he trying to make the team calm with such an awful start, but maybe he was generally shocked too at our bad play. He did start going nuts in the 4th when the refs were screwing up.

He was definitely toned down a bit during the FSU game, but my theory is just that it was his first game and he was watching how his team performed intently. He still got animated a few times though.

I don't recall Bear Bryant or John Wooden showing much emotion....very stoic on the sidelines.

Tom Landry is a HOF coach in the NFL. Ever see him jump around, screaming? The word "stoic" in the dictionary has his picture next to it.

Bear Bryant never showed emotion. Tom Osborne never showed emotion. Neither did Tom Landry. Heck, even Lane Kiffin doesn't show emotion unless something big happens.

It's not a job requirement.

There are multiple ways to win. Coaching. Quarterbacking. Etc.

It is hard for people to accept a method different from what they prefer or are used to. I am included in this group.

Kelly will do whatever it takes to win the season, without tarnishing his or LSU's brand.

Just sit back and watch his greatness unfold right in front of your eyes. Did anyone notice that LSu's players werent celebrating a tackle while behind on the scoreboard this week? Subtle changes. This was a complete team effort.
Will he make some bad mistakes over the next 10 years? Yes he will. That's what happens when you are in the arena and making decisions.
But over the long haul, he will show the one's that are paying attention, how to lead a big time college program very successfully.
