The bottom line on LSU MBB

is that there is not an NBA player on our roster at this time.
Alabama has 2-4 possible NBA players, 2 for sure.
McMahon and staff and team gave a valant effort and could have won if we had shot better. But we don't shoot better so we will not be able to play with good teams regularly any time this year.
Hopefully he recruits 1-2 NBA potential players as well as a few other SEC caliber role players.

re: The bottom line on LSU MBB
I think LSU basketball and The Saints are going to have a rough patch for a few seasons. However, I am about to wet my pants, jacked up about LSU baseball and Spring football. Kim doing her awesome thing.

LSU fans really are blessed in that we are very competitive in baseball and football. If you are a student at Duke or Kansas, you have basketball tradition but you’re not winning anything in football or baseball. Some schools like Kentucky pay their mens basketball coach north if six million per year and still don’t go deep in the tourney.

I say this seriously but kind of being sarcastic, I hope our baseball team don’t believe they are a shoe in for Omaha. I hope they focus one pitch at a time and don’t get a big head.

Well...At least LSU is competitive in at least one sport that schools around the country actually care about.

I was proud of the way they competed today. For the first time, I thought the team was well coached and they hustled.
We simply do not have enough talented players to compete. They don't have quickness and they can't shoot.
But a couple of transfers from the portal could make a tremendous difference next season.

The portal is going to be the key to making our team better. We desperately need a consistent on ball scoring threat at PG and a true big man.

Expectations with basketball have been high due to the success we saw with WW, but we have to be realistic with what we have now. We lost all our players to the portal, have a new coaching staff, and new players.

Give MM a few years to instill a culture, build team chemistry, and get consistent recruits and transfers. We will be back. The guys we have now simply aren’t to the standard of other teams.

Tyrell and Jalen show flashes of potential. Cam and Justice W have shown consistency and improvement. Fountain is consistently solid when given a chance. These things just take time.

LSU has eight more SEC games remaining this season. Except for Texas A&M on Saturday and @ Florida the last Saturday of the season, none of the rest of them appear unachievable. Is it possible that LSU still makes something of this season, other than a complete disaster?

re: The bottom line on LSU MBB
I think we just have to play hard every game and go out there and try our best. The truth is, when you get a new coach in April with zero players, you aren’t going to get much in terms of recruits or the portal.

I think this season is already largely a wash considering we aren’t going to make the tournament. Most we can do is compete for an NIT spot. The things we need to do moving forward are letting our young guys get more minutes and letting the players who will be here next year get comfortable and continue to progress.

KJ Williams is a pro. We don't get him the ball enough and he's too easy to defend because there are no other threats. But yes, we have 1 but 1 is not enough...

I agree he didn’t get the ball enough today. I didn’t like how he was trying to post up almost every possession.

He is our best shooter, he should be on the perimeter almost every possession. With Fountain as hot as he was tonight KJ didn’t need to be clogging the lane.

Yal can stop blaming the players because McMahon will never compete in the SEC.

You are the guy that thinks this years team is as talented as last years team and Miller is an NBA player. We have no one close Eason on this team.

Our fans think that since WW said Miller was killing it in practice that he is a good player.

All the points they bring up to defend Adam were present at Illinois: being in a smaller role, shooting less shots, having better talent around him, etc. They are simply too enamored with the WW era and how highly he thought of Ace to realize that even at Illinois, Miller wasn’t that good.

People go out of their way to defend him because he is a remnant of the WW era and someone we all had a lot of hype for. The sad reality is that he was never the player any of us thought he was, even at Illinois.

I think Mac can coach, the question is can he get some players. We have played much better the last two games. The portal will be big because I don't think LA produced many really good players this year.

Only if they win SEC tournament and get automatic bid to the big dance with a losing record.
