I think this has been overlooked a great deal. A huge portion of the team was in Pasedena for the other NC. Lsu had I think, 5 players, who were on the sideline as recruits from their last one. Being experienced in a NC game setting certainly didn't hurt.

LSU had a great team, but Bama was better all year really. LSU had a better special team unit, but Bama had better offense, defense and better overall experienced talent.
I dissagree
Alabama beat 3 or 4 ranked teams
LSU beat 8 ranked teams, 2 Conference champs, several bowl winners and the eventual MNC Champ in their house.
Alabama resume way less than LSU's

It'll be a more competitive game, but unless LSU can fix that offense that's been among the worst for 4 years now, I like McCarron's chances.

Yeah, true. You know, except for that pretty important thing that goes on the END of the resume.

He played really well, better than I imagined.
I like LSU's chances this year in BR

If the regular season is supposed to mean so much in college football, then what value did LSU beating Bama IN Tuscaloosa really have? The answer is nothing...I think that's what really pisses off LSU fans.
Then you can use the same argument in 2007 when LSU lost 2 games. The game counted... then other teams lost that were expected to win. Then Alabama was voted ahead.
The argument that not every game counted has never made sense to me when you consider the fact that other teams had to lose for Alabama to get a shot.

Bama had better offense

defense

overall experienced talent
The difference was preparation and adjustments (i.e., coaching).

Alabama dropped one spot
come on now..its not like they had to climb back 7 spots
And you played Georgia Southern while these teams were playing on the road or other ranked teams

I think most everyone does.

I want to find another 2 loss team or any team who should have been in ahead of LSU that year.

Ah...so you admit this much
Amazing
Be thankful you got in MNC after losing at home to LSU...and let it go
try to understand our point of view and win with some class

Georgia Southern scored more against Alabama than LSU did.

LSU resume has a 21 pt loss on it. That's like graduating Ivy leauge, but also having a felony conviction for crystal meth trafficing.
Bama's resume is like graduating one of the top public schools like UVA + having a few parking tickets(3pt OT upset loss)
I think Bama gets the job every time.
People talk resume all the time, but there is always a background check.
OSU lost to a 6-7 team that does not have one starter that could start for LSU or Bama. That is worse than LSU's crystal meth trafficing.

quote:Ohio St only had one loss that year. Both LSU and Alabama benefited from the "undefeated in regulation" campaign. With the money Miles and Saban makes, I would be asking for their heads if they werent lobbying for a spot in the BCSNC in a year they have a chance to go.

tOSU was #1, at 11-1

Dude, Ohio St. was #1. I'm talking about finding another team who should have faced Ohio St.

yeah but LSU were SEC champs and Bama wasn't this year...that's what stings for LSU fans
I hope you can appreciate that

Alabama best players were from there 2008 and 2009 class while LSU best players were from there 2009 and 2010 class. Bamas talent was a little bit more experienced.

BUT IT WASN'T REQUIRED.
I, for one, thought Georgia was shafted in 2007 for at least not getting to play in the SEC Championship. Tennessee backed in, to LSU's benefit, so I thought that championship was empty.
If you look at the final AP tally from that year, I wasn't the only one. Many people thought Georgia was the best team, and that ESPN's agenda helped them jump 5 spots.
