re: THE BASICS in the Jack Pyburn Situation

So could Pyburn play for LSU on Saturday and Tampa Bay on Sunday?

So, you can still attend the fall semester (late start) even if you don't start on the official start date (Aug. 24th) of school. According to the Fall 2026 LSU academic calendar, the last date you can add a course for credit (school) is Sept. 2nd. Logic tells me that this would all have to be decided before this. I think if it's not, it would be too much of a risk for LSU to allow players to play in a game until a final verdict because they could potentially face forfeiture of games if that player played in a game but was not legally allowed to.
Who knows?? I wouldn't be surprised at anything at this point. I would draw the line in the sand though on the Sept. 2nd date, unless there's another date the school normally and customarily allows late starts.

I think eligibility tied to enrollment is a common sense boundary that could hold up in court. Students and student athletes should have the same restrictions and allowances when it comes to moving in and out of schools. I don’t know how you switch schools 5 weeks into a semester.
I’m sure schools will find a way to open that window.

It’s COLLEGE football, an amateur sport. They graduated, played their years and went rookie camp.. MOVE ON! College sports is beginning to get unbearable to watch.

Quite the opposite. They are ALL professional athletes now. NCAA is just another league that competes for players like the NFL (or any other college sport). Yes, it's confusing especially for us of the older generation but in a capitalistic culture people have a right to be paid for their work.
