This is what started the whole thing. And then it obviously escalated into something everyone wishes it hadn't. But really, what's the big deal. College kids do stupid shite, especially when bf/gf, exes and emotions are mixed in. Throw in a large faction of the football team into the mix and you have this whole scenario.

- marine stalks ex gf at shadys bar
- marine gets into it with a male (lsu player) because he is with his "girl"
- marine and his buddies gets arse kicked by members of lsu football team
- marine has his pride hurt because lsu football players got the girl and kicked his arse
Ergo...marine is trying to get back at team by ruining the season and targeting starting qb JJ.
That's the story I'll stick with. Seems about a solid line of events for a bar fight.

Now I know that is BS, otherwise you wouldn't use the terms assault and battery inter-changably. Assault is attempted battery. If someone committs battery, then, they cannot have committed assault because they didn't attempt to beat someone - they succeeded in doing it.
