The ABS will be probably the highlight of the tournament

At least if we don't get a baseball miracle. I hope the system works well and becomes standard in SEC games.
It will be interesting to see who Jay give the green light to challenge since coaches are not allowed to initiate or signal and if he has a preference for using them on the pitching or hitting side.
If a coach etc. signals to challenge the challenge is lost.
This is what will cause the most controversy by those not knowing the rules ABS operates under since stance and framing have no effect.

Overview

If that graphic is accurate, there are going to be a lot of low strikes that people are not happy about

Honestly this should be used everywhere and the homeplate ump just there for plays at the plate or hit by pitch calls

I hope these fricking minor league rejects (literally in many cases) get arse fricked all week. Every game, no matter who is playing. I hope they are the stars of the fricking show, but for the opposite of great play. Expose them, even if this is only meant to be token treatment from the league office.

Of course they will have to try to bolster these shitheads. They were stupid or lazy enough to hire them.
But just watch. They will STILL frick it up. Most of them are that bad behind the plate.

This “rule” is SEC cover your arse horseshite. The zone is NOT 2 dimensional. We all know this. The zone is 3 dimensional and is supposed to exist over the plate in that box.
If the ball hits the catchers mit “in the zone” box behind the plate on a breaking ball that was out of the zone over the plate, that is NOT a strike. It’s never been a legal strike. It will never be a strike. But I have a sneaking suspicion the SEC will use this “rule” to prop up shite calls on review all fricking week.
Hopefully the umps are so bad this week that they still get fricked and the SEC eats shite over their decision to allow these reviews.

correct.
Guys are getting an inch outside the plate and several inches above and below the zone. But honestly, if ABS didn't make the zone larger, we'd see even more walks than we already do. I don't think our team in particular wants any part of an exactly accurate zone

It's how they're doing it in the majors. And it's been well received. But outside of CB Bucknor, the ABS system is generally proving how good the umpires in the majors actually are.
Not every call is overturned, and a lot of the ones that are overturned are off by fractions of an inch.
I don't expect the SEC umpires to be nearly as good. But I do expect some frickery to make them look better than they are.
