...brutally:

quote:

having worked with Thayer Evans at Fox Sports, having followed his work for some time, I am completely and utterly flabbergasted that a legitimate news outlet would allow Thayer Evans to be involved in some type of investigative piece on college football that tears down a program, and particularly one that tears down Oklahoma State when it is no secret what a huge, enormous, gigantic Oklahoma homer Thayer Evans is.

quote:

It doesn’t surprise me there are sources in this story saying the reporting was heavy-handed and leading. I don’t want to make the whole thing about Thayer Evans, but there’s just no way to avoid it. I’ve worked with him. He’s simpleminded. He’s a hack that can’t write.

good, let the clowns go to war around this circus.
SI is sports worlds version of the Rolling Stone, needing BS drama and sheety journalism to sell an irrelevant publication.

Whitlock often comes off as a douche, but i'll say that he always speaks his mind and gives zero fricks what anyone thinks.

I rarely listen to sports radio outside of Hanagriff and SVP, and *never* watch sports tv talking heads, so I don't now much about Whitlock.

I just liked the way he roasted Known Slime Thayer Evans.

His thoughts on Thayer Evans are his own, but they seem to be somewhat of a consensus among many others.

As far as the story itself, this looks the be the biggest "non-story" expose in recent memory. Wait a minute, you're telling me that college football players at OSU were given money by boosters, had college girls want to have sex with them, receieved overreaching academic "help" to ensure their eligibility, and used drugs and alcohol? Get right out of town!!!! I wonder if this kind of stuff goes on at any other universtity besides OSU?

This is SI's desperate attempt to be relevant in the new age of CFB investigative journalism being as how they missed the boat on the most recent, much more salacious scandals. Unfortuately, I predict that coming on the heels of the Cam Newton story, the Penn St. story, and Miami story, this will be a HUGE flop. Anyone who follows college sports even just a bit will read this 5 part "epic" and be left saying "And....? Where is the part that I'm supposed to be outraged or taken aback by?

Surprised Whitlock didn't somehow see Thayer Evans' piece as a slam against a particular race. You know, Whitlock loves playing that card any and every chance he can get.

Exactly. Whitlock is the same idiot that said the NRA is the modern day KKK. If you read anything he writes on race or gun control, he is as much of a hack as there is.

and finishes off with this

quote:

“ … Let me end by saying this and I honestly mean this without malice. It wouldn’t shock me if Thayer Evans couldn’t spell cat and I say in all seriousness.”

The problem in journalism today is that too many of these guys/gals/its are political hacks with an agenda posing as legitimate writers. That's why I refuse to support them in any way financially...don't buy their crap and they will soon go away...just take a look at all the ex-magazines and newspapers....they went out of business because the public finally quit buying their propaganda...squeeze these mfs. out of existence...keep your money in your pocket!
