I can’t speak for the other poster and what he intended by his words, but there is a difference between believing the team was capable of turning things around and being confident that they would. Plenty of us still doubted the team would find its footing while still holding on to hope that they would. Not writing them off didn’t imply blind faith. Most of the things you described were actually reasons to believe the season could improve since the lack of production in key situations was some combination of mental state and bad luck, not lack of ability.
