If we truly have 6 NFL ready defensive players, why did we struggle so much in key situations?

Simon is not in the same category as peterson (obviously), and Claiborne. I feel like he'd benefit in staying another year. But I wish him luck.

Not a huge loss. Simon didn't seem to get better as his career advanced. He got abused a lot this year. The young kids can only get better.

No big loss, IMO. The guy did not improve as the season went on. Where is he even projected to go, if indeed he gets drafted?

He is tall so I can see him going as early as the third round.

Hopefully he runs well at the combine. He had a down year.

All this NFL talent and yet we struggled on defense many games? Something doesnt seem right.

Yep. If we get Priest, I'd say White and Willis will be your backups from day 1. Move Dwayne Thomas over to safety backing up Martin. Keep Eugene as a blitzer, not a true safety.
