He hasn’t proven he can move well enough to be a modern pass catching TE. He’s seen as an in-line player who has very good hands so there is a place for him but he’s not nearly what most people here believe he is talent wise. Go put on his tape, most of his catches are check downs or catches without much movement. He wasn’t separating from coverage or making cuts in our offense, he was a safety valve.

Sorry but he doesn’t have years of development ahead of him in the NFL. He’s not big for an NFL TE and he’s not exactly a burner. The window in the NFL is very small and in all likelihood he won’t make a roster.

I could be a Bengal fan Geaux Tigers. Moss made some monster plays last year, the catch against the gumps was my favorite. Geaux Tigers

He's just not athletic enough to make it imo

He’s awesome. Someone will take a chance.

quote:It appears that’s the case. What do you think he could have come back and improved enough to move into the early rounds of the draft? He had good production, hands, and is generally considered a good blocker. Coming back another year won’t give him another inch in height or a faster 40 time.

I agree he probly doesn’t make an upper round jump by staying but if he could’ve polished his route running and learn some subtle receivers tricks to improve his separation he could’ve made enough of a jump to where he could get a more secure commitment from a team. I think all he’s missing is NFL level movement but we’ve seen players like Jason Witten use smarts and polish to offset their lack of speed and fluidity and even though Moss is more athletic than that, it’s the example he should emulate.

Because he’s already missed two college football seasons, and had the best year he would ever have catching balls from burrow
His stock would not have been any higher. When he declared he was perfectly healthy. Had an unfortunate injury right before the combine so he never got to work out. That killed any chance he had of being drafted. The decision he made to leave was perfectly sound.

Wish he was still with us so we could have him + Gilbert
So we could bench Racy?

The pros cut injured players who otherwise would make the team. They won’t cut starter level guys, but they will cut the last ten or so on the roster, because they can pick others up who are just as good and not injured.

Do you think LSU has unopened bottles of this stuff?
All of those things are small difference makers. Moss was undrafted because the pros didn’t see the measurables to make them think he could be productive. They’ll bring guys like Moss in as camp bodies in hopes that they will surprise them, or as insurance against injuries to others, but if they are not healthy enough to play then they’ll get someone else.

Don't know who was giving him advice....but wish he was still in the P/G!

You ever see Witten play in college? Way faster than moss...

Coming back wasn't gonna make him not have the joints of a 50-year-old.
