DD said this morning that we're recruiting another TE in this class - Garmon Randolph 247
This means we're willing to take 3-4 TE's in this class, depending on what you consider Parker to be.
This tells me we may see attrition at that position in the off season. This doesn't necessarily mean that Moss is gone, but he probably needs to get healthy and ready to contribute by spring.

What was or is his exact injury that kept him out all year long?

I don't know...hopefully someone can answer.

Why another TE? Hoping that young man is a DE or OLB with that frame. Please no more TEs. Even if they think Parker is out.

I agree with you. This is reminiscent of Les...not the only thing either.
Unless we have some huge void where we only have a couple or even a single TE on the roster, I'd rather us just land (1) great TE prospect every cycle. I'm having trouble seeing how taking 3-4 this cycle, with the numbers we already have on the roster and with our other pressing needs, is wise.

Apparently he's had like 3 foot surgeries.
Chronic foot injuries might derail his carer before it began.

Not sure Thad Moss is even an actual person on campus

Thanks, yeah I'm getting the same feeling here

I think it is b/c we are short on good TEs. I would think they want to move Scott back to DE. The other freshmen they recruited may end up being more of a Fb. The only real TE they got is a juco guy and I am sure the hope on Parker and Turner is they end up on the OLine. Who do we have for TE in 2 years. in 2 years we would have SR McClendon and Maybe RS SO Sheffer. Other than that we would have 2 guys who we recruited as Dline in Moffit and Scott. I think it would be good to sometimes go 2 TE and 2 WR sets, those are tough to defense if you have TEs who can block and run routes.

Why not try to put 10 lbs on Sullivan and see if we can recreate Robert Royal 2.0 ?
He’s 6’ 4” 235 lbs now. Get him to 245ish, and he’s still a nightmare matchup for defenses.
Between Jefferson, Chase, Dillon, etc. WR starting 3 is set.

I do agree with you...but this is sort of my issue with the way we've recruited TE's.
2017 - 0 TE's taken (we're trying to convert WR McMath)
2018 - 1-2 TE's taken, Sheffer and maybe Scott
2019 (so far) - Turner and McClendon
With this 2019 class, we may also take 1-2 more TE's. Parker maybe an OL. Turner was supposed to be an OL, but it doesn't seem he's big enough...he was OL in HS, though.
The biggest issue is that we're not taking good enough TE's prospects. We're short on good TE's, because we're filling those spots, when we do, with very marginal prospects.
I really think taking 1 very good TE prospect annually is the way to go. If we're short right now due to our past strategy, we need to change strategies...but we're not doing that in this class...we're still taking numbers at the position, which takes away from the numbers at other positions, and we're hoping 1 of them develops enough to contribute.
Ideally for this class, we should've taken only Parker at TE, and we should've landed 1-2 other legit OT's that don't require the development that Parker does at the position.

I think you are right, we do need to take 1 good prospect yearly. But we hven't done a good job and need to fix it. That is the reason for McClendon. Parker is a TE, but many believe he will end up as an OT. The hope is Turner will grow into a Oline also, so I am not sure I would count on either of them.
That is why the coaches may want another TE. McClendon is the fix for past errors and they want a true Frosh TE to build. Maybe if they don't get one they stick with Parker for longer at TE, don't know.

I agree, especially with not counting on either Parker or Turner being locks to be OLmen. If one or both of them can be our next Dillon Gordon, that'd be great.
I guess I just don't like taking 3-4 TE's in any class. 2 is the most I can see for a single cycle...we have glaring holes at OT and SDE. If we can't get who we want, we should save as many spots as we can for possible transfers and for next year.

I've said it before he has a vaginal contusion. Might be career ending.

Sullivan is not physical enough. Can't fight thru the middle.

Dude, the guy's 74 fricking years old...he can't really fight through anything at this point, much less the middle.
