disciplined
The old saying. The best band is the most disciplined band.

To be fair, JUMAS started a couple of years before that, and wasn't just tubas.
I know, I was there at inception.

Btw, loved Auburn's James Bond show
TGBFTL did a James Bond show in the early 90s under Wickes/Moorehouse. Band formed a handgun a la 007 and "shot" it (6 or so band members marched out as the bullet) while playing the James Bond theme.

That's because Auburn's band director was a graduate assistant under Moorehouse and Wickes
Then bring his arse back to LSU.

Spending so much time and effort on something you love + people saying it sucks = rustled jimmies
I spent a lot of time and effort leaving the game at halftime to go party and I'm getting called a pussy because of it and my jimmies remain unrustled

Last night they sure were. Auburn's band was louder, had a better halftime show, and were a hell of a lot more fun to watch in the stands. They actually seemed to be enjoying themselves. I realize that our band is at the mercy of the LSU marketing department, so it's not all their fault. They can't play what and when they want to because of the constant PA ads and piped in music.

Instead, after giving 25 years to LSU, she was shite on.
I guess that's what happens when you're a bitch. I know nothing about the situation other than multiple people saying she was a bitch.
Ya gotta know whose a$$ to kiss instead of being a bitch all of the time.

That hurts my feelings. I thought we were friends

Maybe so, but I would think that if she was an unbearable bitch, they would have run her off long before. Maybe Frank was the one who kept her safe. Who knows.
And to clarify, she was a bitch to the band members. I, obviously, never saw her interactions with her peers and colleagues. She was elected/appointed to the boards and presidencies of quite a few national band organizations, so she must have done some butt kissing.

You hurt my feelings first with your silliness.

She was a little brutal at times, but she was incredibly efficient. I didn't talk to her much, but the few times I did, she was nice.
I think that may be a good point. When she was speaking to the whole band, and "laying down the law", she was harsh (even as a 20something in the 80s), but in smaller groups or one on one, she was a bit more diplomatic.

Were you sitting exactly in the middle? How could you tell? (honest question)
Our seats are along the West sideline, so we could hear both bands equally well. The Auburn band sounded louder than y'all. They also played whenever Tiger Band would play, which I wasn't a fan of. Seemed kind of arse hole-ish to me. I didn't count them, but they also appeared to be larger as well.

Do we not?
Honestly....not so much. Again, perhaps it's because y'all are told when to play and what to play. Maybe Auburn's band was just having fun because they were getting their asses kicked on the field, but when they played "Word up" they seemed to be having a blast. It seemed like last year that LSU cut back on the canned music and let y'all play more.
