Why is it in high school that girls can play boys sports, but a boy can't play volleyball or softball on a girls team?

Generally, this only happens when a girl wants to play a sport where there is no female equivalent, e.g. Football. Most schools will have a girls' basketball team in addition to a boys' team. Same with softball/baseball, tennis, swim, etc.

Disagree. It usually takes getting a white Christian man out of the way to get it done. See Lilly Ledbetter Act.

We have five children. Our oldest is 15. She took the ACT after her freshman year and made a 31. She was reading on 9th grade level by 3rd grade. She's drawing interest from schools like Columbia, Stanford, Miami, University of Chicago, Colgate, Brown, etc. While she hasn't placed at the state swim meet, she's qualified and competed three years in a row. All three of our oldest children are all straight A students in gifted and/or honors classes. Our oldest son is on the verge of making Eagle Scout; he will qualify for the state swim meet this fall. Our middle son is quickly moving up the ranks in scouting. He's a great kid. He even changed the sheets on his bed and his little brother's bed tonight without being asked. Our twins are not yet old enough to get grades, but they are the sweetest, kindest kids. They work hard, love everyone, and take care of each other. They are all great kids who look out for one another. We are so blessed!
Congratulations to jay and the Tyler family. On another note, Stanford, among others, is recruiting our 15 year old daughter (academics, not athletics). Very proud.
Are their KKK hoods also exempt for religious reasons?
I graduated in 94. I ordered mine online or via phone about three years ago. I know I didn't go to campus to get them.

Sci-Port membership is $125 for a family of up to 5. If you're a member, COSI is a part of the ASTC passport system, and your Sci-Port membership would get you in at no additional cost. You can support your local museum and economize on your trip.

www.childrensmuseums.org will have a list. You can check any cities you know you will or would like to hit. Also check out the Reciprocal Network.
www.astc.org They have a list of their membership and details of the reciprocal benefits each offers.
Some places refer to themselves as children's museums but are affiliated with ASTC. Some science museums accept children's museums memberships. Sometimes a facility with accept either. We live in Mississippi and belong to the natural science museum in Jackson, which last year was $65 for our family of 7. We went to McWane Science Center in Birmingham, a phenomenal place fun for kids and adults alike, at no charge.
On occasion we haven't planned ahead and just used our GPS to tell us what was coming up along the way. We stopped in Shreveport on our way back from riding the Polar Express in Texas about six years ago and enjoyed an impromptu stop at that science center.

We have five small children. We find it convenient and beneficial to stop at children's museums and science museums on long road trips. Once you know your particular route, search for any science or children's museums on that path.

We like these because they allow the kids to be kids--running, playing, exploring--affording the children a nice respite from being strapped down in a seat belt. We also like them because they are not weather dependent, have clean bathrooms, and are filled with knowledgeable locals who can recommend restaurants or other points of interest. Of course, you could always grab something to eat at the museum, but I wouldn't recommend it.

If you have reciprocal memberships at your local children's museums or science museums, your admission is complimentary or reduced, assuming the facility you're visiting is a member of the Association of Children's Museums or Association of Science and Technology Centers. It's easy to look up online. There is also an Association of Zoos and Aquariums which also offers reciprocal benefits to participating members. A good friend of mine tells me there is an amazing science museum in Ohio (COSI, I believe) where she takes her children each time she goes to see family.
My son is named Atticus. No one has shortened it. There is another student at his school also named Atticus. No one gas shortened his either. It's a great name.

Guy behind the register at the first Canes (and only Canes at the time) told me it's mayo, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper. That's as much as I remember anyway, and I'm not 100% on the ketchup. He told me most if not all of the recipe before another employee told him to shut up.

TGBFTL did a James Bond show in the early 90s under Wickes/Moorehouse. Band formed a handgun a la 007 and "shot" it (6 or so band members marched out as the bullet) while playing the James Bond theme.
So did LSU--beat every team they played last year, that is.

Reminds me of Steve Corell (sp?) in Forty Year Old Virgin. I have no farking skills, though. Funny stuff.
My hubby, a band member from 92-96, said LSU has a strict policy prohibiting uniformed performances outside of events offically organized by the university. Would've been something to see, though....
Can't get over how they are questioning his integrity. CLM never addressed what we all refer to as the suspension. So we don't have confirmation of drug use. Yet, we do know that Trent Richardson fathered two children out of wedlock at age 16 and 18. That doesn't say choir boy to me.

there is a list of tie-breakers, including head to head winner and performance against common opponents. if i'm not mistaken, none of the tie-breakers apply. and yes, if tied, the final decision is made by drawing straws/coin flip.
SEC West is a killer division with #s 1,2, and 3. If UGA and USCe win out, the SEC will have five 10 (or more) win teams. Not bad.... Any other conference able to say that?
My grandfather--I remember sitting with him in his kitchen as he leaned against the counter over the radio to hear the gravelly play by play. I remember watching LSU beating No. 1 Florida in 1997 with him. I got tickets for him twice when I was a student--once in 1990 and again in 1991 (not LSU's finest period). He fought to stand up so he could see the game over the rowdy students, even though he was battling bone cancer. I wish my mom and grandmother could be here, too.
My dad walked out on my mom with two little girls-- I was maybe two, my sister just a year--when he got the 16 year old babysitter pregnant. Never fooled with us. I tried to call him when I was in college, thinking he might be open to a relationship since I was 18 and he didn't have to go through my mom. I wished him Merry Christmas over the phone, and he hung up on me when I identified myself. He has 11 season tickets to LSU games and is a huge LSU fan. That's the only thing we have in common--I hope.
1990 Mike Archer 5-6 2-5
1991 Curley Hallman 5-6 3-4
1992 Curley Hallman 2-9 1-7
1993 Curley Hallman 5-6 3-5
1994 Curley Hallman 4-7 3-5

1996 Gerry DiNardo 10-2 6-2 Peach Bowl 12

I refer to that period of LSU Football as The Lean Years. I live and die with my Tigers, but having been there through The Lean Years, I appreciate so much where we are now.
