Underrated dominant team and defeated solid competition not to mention the then-alleged GOAT team USC in one of the great games of all-time. I mean, I don't necessarily disagree with that contention however the way LSU finished this season against top competition was nothing short of dominant and legendary, I mean we defeated one of the great teams of all-time with a 29-game winning streak by double-digits for the championship, can't get much better than that.

i don't necessarily agree but they have an argument

Vince Young in 2005 was one of, if not the, best season for a CFB QB in history

they demolished basically their entire schedule until the title game *ETA and OSU. forgot about that game

and they were LOADED with future NFL talent

Really don’t need to even bother comparing or debating.
Don’t care who the other team in the discussion is.

15-0
7 wins over top 10 teams
Heisman winner

Texas didn’t play 15 games.

You could make a great argument that Young should have won the Heisman. He did win the Maxwell and the O’Brien.

Thorpe winner

Michael Huff of Texas won the Thorpe in ‘05. Aaron Ross was on the ‘05 squad and won the Thorpe the next year.

Mack was coach of the year in ‘05

Texas’ 652 points in 2005 set a college record for most points in FBS history.

Pretty close to matched.

I think LSU wins. Texas secondary was very talented, but Jefferson, Chase, Marshall, Moss get it done. Texas didn’t have stellar receivers. Sweed was a big play guy, but Pittman and Carter are not guys to be feared.
