Men's sports needs to just get this over with and start over again next year, it's just crazy to see how non competitive we've been

A lot of this is on coaching but bad play just infects the entire roster. I would think it's a combination between many of these guys thinking they invincible after last year and then knowing your defense is so awful you have to make a perfect pitch. It's like a domino effect that just keeps getting worse. Mentally, they're all checked out and I doubt coaching could fix it.

I wish Jay would coach 1 game to where we force manufacture runs. He’s still in the mindset that we can hit our way to a win and we physically can’t. We don’t steal, don’t bunt, rarely hit and run, etc. Jay just says ok swing it

Don't forget that we had two major league level starting pitchers in Anderson and Eyanson (sp?) last year. I love Evans and Schmidt, but they are not equal to A and E at this point, anyway. I know there are a LOT of other problems too, but this is a big reason

People here keep talking about guys checking out or not giving a shite- doubt is more poisonous than either of those, because it will neutralize players who DO give a shite. Guys like Curiel, Brown and Stanny who have proven that they do.

I think there's guys who are definitely lazy on the roster. You can see it in their demeanor in the games. There's definitely guys like you mentioned who play hard but it's a mental breakdown because their team is so bad around them. They feel like they have to do everything themselves, so they press harder.
That's just the way it goes. It's all infectious when it comes to crap play. I'm willing to bet money some guys from last year on this roster didn't work as hard as they probably should have. You also have it all compounded by you whiffed on every portal player which brings into question is $$$ like that ruining the roster? It didn't happen in previous seasons but it sure feels like this one did. It's a bust. I hate the NIL era tbh.
