why don't you put the positive things that he said also?
he also mentions he loves his school and loves the fans.
you frickers are only putting up negative shite. should be banned.

I love Shep as a good person and as a Tiger but he was the 3rd or 4th best receiver on our team. Not tall, not blazing fast, questionable hands, it's a joke that he's considering "declaring". I'm sorry.

Well, this situation is a little different. But obviously, this shows Shep has no faith in the QB play next year.
Or it validates the multiple whacked threads and stuff I've heard all over town regarding an eroding relationship and philosophical differences expressed Monday night.

Terrence Toliver @TToliver80 I regret not declaring for the draft my junior year thinking that I could have a better year but no that didn't happen
Retweeted by Russell Shepard
The situations between the two aren't even remotely similar. Shepard really has little to no draft stock right now. But it's his choice. He can do whatever he wants and I'll wish him the best. But I can't see how this could be perceived as wise for him.

I would love to know the real reason that Miles was so devoted to that embodiment of mediocrity.
This is the $64,000 question b/c everyone knows CLM let more talented QBs ride the pine, right?
I would love to get into Les's head and get a true understanding of this situation but unfortunately there is likely nothing to it except that JJ was older. Seniority trumps talent at the QB position under CLM.

May just show immaturity or lack of understanding about his draft status.
Maybe he is just miserable at LSU and doesn't like Miles. If he shows up well at the combine/pro day he will have a shot at a roster regardless of whether he comes back or not.

The only difference between RS's situation and TT's situation is that RS will have a better pocket passer throwing him the ball if he stays his senior year.
TT had to go through a senior season with the same QBs.
Exactly. Russell Shepard using Toliver's statement as support for him leaving is idiotic. Toliver was regretting leaving while his stock was low...presumable due to the QB play holding him back.
Shepard leaving now would be choosing to leave while his stock is low...due to the same exact QB play that held back Toliver. He would be intentionally be making the same mistake Toliver did.

It'd be best for him to leave next year. We have two pocket passing QBs next year. Him leaving now, whether having a shot at a roster could be the difference between a successful year and National Championship.

The similarity of the 2 is that they both shared the utter disdain that the HC they trusted when they signed developed player pets, especially at QB, and started them over more deserving players to the detriment of the team.

Dear RS, come back and come to your senses man... you won't carry the water in the NFL right now.

I think this is absurd (on Toliver's part). The NFL is a performance based position. He produces numbers, he makes more money. It's that simple.
RS on the other hand just doesn't appear to be ready for the next level.

That would explain Shepard transferring to another school...not choosing to screw himself and entering the draft while his stock is low.

I'm not sure how much his stock would improve with a transfer. He'd have to sit out a year, learn an entirely new system, and have 1 year to perform.
I'm thinking that he believes he has the raw skills to play pro ball in a Harvin type position. By declaring, he can concentrate 24/7 on honing those skills, training with a professional trainer, and attending combines. If he can impress 1 team to gamble a late round draft pic, or even sign him as a free agent, he can get into camp and work with pro coaches while getting paid, hopefully developing over time.

If he is that bad, why all second guessing about him leaving? It would be a positive. Another scholarship is available.

His ability to make an NFL team probably isn't going to increase any more by transferring. He either has the skills or not at this point and will show at the combine

Why is this shite still active and my thread was anchored.

Then Toliver's tweet would be a moot point...not support for leaving early.
Toliver's tweet either doesn't apply to Shepard, or should be used as a reason to stay.

If he showed some potential/production at WR in college it would help. Can anybody think of a definitive receiving highlight from his career?
