He better be glad his teammate was gunned down at 2nd or he would have struck out again. Rumor is Skenes was gonna give him some chin music after the first strikeout, but the team doctor explained to him that was physically impossible.

Snapshots like that are flawed. They turn something dynamic (pitch movement) into something static and something 3-D (strike zone) into something 2-D.

Moreover, as a game progresses both pitchers and hitters know if an ump is calling 'that' a strike.

I'm guessing across a season he was the beneficiary of some calls.
