If UF loses, it's just not that bad for them...It's almost totally irrelevant from their perspective, IMO.
that makes no sense...a loss to LSU will leave very little margin for error for them...most likely, they wouldn't be able to lose another game for the rest of the regular season...to say the game is almost totally irrelevant is ludicrous.

Hail Mary = 4 wide receiver set

You do realize a certain # of WR's on field is not a requirement for a Hail Mary pass?

I do. But at the time, we didn't even have one on the field

Good, because you were arguing your points well until the "hail Mary = 4 wr set" comment.

But I also most people overestimate how important that is to being a "good coach." It's the most visible coaching decision you make, so people will judge you on it. But in coaching, like anything else, 95% of the work is behind the scenes.

I personally believe that recruiting is at least 80% of the battle. And make no mistake - I think Miles is a GREAT recruiter.

If you have followed JT's previous posts, this is likely NOT a typo. He doesn't know what he meant......

Well, genius, why don't you suit up and tell Les you'll be taking over tomorrow night. Dumbass.

And whose alter are you anyway?
Hey, Ms. CT. JerserTiger isn't an alter. He's been around a long time, mostly on the Poli and Money Boards.

How you been?

I have mixed feelings about miles.

a) he comes off as clueless during interviews
b) he is terrible at gameday management
c) he wins

c) is all that really matters to me. Yes, last year wasn't too good. But we had a qb with no experience, and lost a ton of talent on the D. So he gets a pass. He has made it to 5-0 this year. Assuming he wins, I say keep him around.

I am happy if LSU goes 9-3/10-2 every year. And Miles has a pretty good track record with this. If we do this, we will often get in the SECCG.

Finally its better to be lucky than good.

So. Your logic. Miles is 80% GREAT (I noticed the caps lock for emphasis). But the 20% that comes elsewhere is enough to drive his reputation into the ground.

Sure, it reduces their margin of error. but they are head and shoulders above everyone but Bama. If you look at the risk/reward from Meyer's perspective, IMO the conclusion is that it's not worth it. As someone already pointed out, they have to beat UGA no matter what. The only other 1-loss team is USC, and certainly they won't stay that way.

Me too. I guess it depends on what your definition of a successful season is. I think if you demand 12-0 and 11-1 every year, you're pretty much setting yourself up for misery.

It's enough to call his contract into serious question, yse.

And we've seen that it does not take that record to make it to the BCS championship game.

That is ridiculous. He's excellent at recruiting, excellent at player development (which is far more important than recruiting) and excellent at recognizing when he can spring something unexpected on opposing teams. He and Crowton and Chavis are very good at developing schemes.

The only possible complaint I could realistically see about Miles is that he has below average clock management skills.
