cervical spine injury

Obviously he didn't show any s/s of this I mean they stood him up and his hands were moving after the hit........

He is very lucky though.......Hope the Old Tebow can heal himself instead of someone else.

I can tell you whats going to happen here boys, it's really simple.

If Tebow had a minor concussion against UT (I have not heard this before) and sustained the MASSIVE brain shot he took yesterday, this will be taken OUT of Urban's hands.

The hue and cry from the medical community and the sports chattering class will be OVERWHELMING.

Florida will bench him, citing his long-term health because to play him would be to open themselves up to MASSIVE public criticism and liability.

It's not like UF can't field a great team without him anyway.

I still feel if Tebow did indeed have a minor concussion last week and continously played after the hit at Tennessee as opposed to Richard Dickson who got hit and never saw the field again against ULL is cause for some criticism of Urban Meyer and his medical staff.........

I mean in the NFL if your qb fails the visual field test after a head collision, his day is over.......

You can't read a sports magazine or watch a sports show without a concussion cautionary tale . The climate is ripe for Tebow to be shut down by sportswriters, doctors etc...

There will be a public and professional outcry if Urban appears to be rushing Tebow.

As someone who once sustained a minor concussion, I hope you're right. This is very, very serious business, folks.

As much as I would like Tebow under center on October 10th, I hope this is left in a medical expert's hands, not an overanxious coaching staff.

Dickson will probably last longer in the NFL than Tebow. Tebow is tough, but he just can't keep going at that pace with all the hits he's taking.

Don't you think its kind of pathetic and bush league that you hope somebody doesn't play because you don't think you're good enough to beat somebody at full strength? Wouldn't you rather everybody play so you know for sure who the best team is? If Tebow doesn't play and LSU wins, LSU still isn't going to get a whole lot of love because everybody will say they only won because Tebow didn't play. The only way for LSU to gain respect is to beat Florida at full strength.

BYU jumped from 20th to top ten after beating Oklahoma, despite Sam Bradford's injury causing him to miss most of the game.

This is irrelevant, what is relevant is that both took a hit in a football game yet one staff said your done son and the other let him play.........

Then a week later both played again and that said player sustained another hit with even worse repercussions.....

I think Tebow will play in 2 weeks......he has more than enough time to rest up.....

I want Tebow in the game, I'm just upset to here his coach isn't protecting his health.

If he is breathing Tebow WILL PLAY against LSU. Meyer's recent behavior of playing Demps with 104 fever against UT, and playing Tebow last night when he had the flu shows that he doesn't care one iota about the health of his players unless if affects HIS chance to win a game. This attitude is no different than most any other coaches at the high school and especially college level, who although they say they are looking out for the kids future, really don't care what kind, IF ANY, career the kid has at the next level. I Really do hope that Tim Tebow fully recovers and is at full strentgh and ability ON OCTOBER 11th and beyond, NOT BEFORE THEN.

That's what I'm a little but worried about.

I'm worried that all of the Tim Tebow lore will put him in a position where everyone with sense will step aside and might let him play when he really shouldn't.

It would be a tragedy if that happened.

If he plays and gets Hurt, so be it. Lose no sleep here. Sometimes you gotta pay for your stupidity and mistakes. Like driving drunk.

As a Gator fan who has read and follows the team as closey as anybody I have not heard one word about Tebow sustaining a minor concussion against Tennessee? Where exactly did that come from?

I went to a trauma seminar... they showed 15 min. of football hits.. it was painful to watch, and at the end the point was... all the practice in the world, and all the equipment doesn't stop the accidents in football.L S Usetheforce that is correct. Every hit Tebow now gets will cause more damage to his already damaged brain, and he will be more suceptable to bigger damage with every tackle. Looks like he better become a bench warmer and not have scrambled brains. He might of stayed in the hospital for precautionary measures, but they are probbly telling him the same thing.. cont. to play and take a big chance.. neurons in the brain don't regenerate the same way our body cells do. I wish I could remember the player his last name was Everett I think, they used a spinal doctor at the game, he was given massive amounts of steriods and cold water to stop the swelling when he took a "hit" and it got his spinal cord... he is walking, but it is very interesting. Look under spinalcord injuries and see all the updates and interesting football injuries. But, there is no better week-end entertainment and we don't give credit sometimes for the college football players.

Troy Aikman should give him a call, too many concussions in a narrow time frame can have long lasting effects. I like Tebow and wish him the best, but I think if asked, he will opt to play.

He's young, and probably considers himself indestructible. I'm not sure that these athletes really understand the long-term risks.

My boy ADAM DEADMARSH,tough as nails, uber-warrior, excellent NHL hockey player has a HARROWING story of multiple concussions that left him in a multi-year semi- fugue state.

Look, I have a man-crush on Tebow. I love the guy, he's a credit to humanity, he embodies excellence, and I hope that if there is any question that they sit his arse down.
