Let’s take a look at the top 10 in college baseball and see how our average stacks up.

1. Wake Forest .270
2. Arkansas .248
3. LSU .331
4. Florida .327
5. TCU .347
6. Vanderbilt .295
7. Oregon St .336
8. Texas A&M .359
9. Tennessee .293
10. Clemson .306

We’re hitting just fine. Need to figure out the weekend rotation and we’ll be scary.

Of course the hitting will be fine. Anybody telling you differently is overreacting. I will say this though. LSU has yet to play a team worth an ounce so far, and a lot of The Top 10 have already had some big time matchups. So it’s not a great comparison just yet.

Not sure why people are freaking out. This is a good team and in my opinion looking better than last years team at the same part of the season.

This is actually pretty nuts seeing this, especially considering that I believe they haven't played a road game yet, so everything has been in that band box of a park.

Haven't watched a second of them this year outside of one Chase Burns inning, but every time I check the D1baseball scoreboard, it seems like they are up by 7 or 8 runs.

ETA: I take that back, their one loss was a midweek road loss at UNC Greensboro. Not shocking at all that they leave home and suddenly only score 3 runs. It's like Omaha last year all over again.

If we want to be technical then technically SB is bigger than Ole Miss. Wouldn’t consider it a small school

Which is why Jay is tinkering with the lineup every game. Once the lineup is set and everybody settles in and knows their role this team will be very good.

Define "a lot", because including us, more than half of the top 10 has played a bunch of nobodies. Of the teams listed below, only A&M has a better team average than us through the first two weeks. The comparison is fine.

#1 Wake Forest has played Fordham, Illinois, Akron, UNCG and Dayton

#4 Florida has played St. John's, North Florida and Columbia

#7 Texas A&M has played McNeese, Incarnate Word and Wagner

#9 Vanderbilt has played FAU, Dayton, Eastern Kentucky and Gonzaga

#10 Clemson has played Xavier, Presbyterian and Kennesaw State

No they haven't. Stop being purposely disingenuous.

We have some really dumb arse fans. The same ones whose pussies were sore last year saying the team was no good

For defensive purposes Milam has to be in the lineup at SS or 2B, he makes all the plays and I think that pushes Pearson back to the OF

I'll echo what Jay said yesterday, I think Larson is going to be in the mix for more playing time down the line

good thing is you can't go wrong with all of the options he has at his disposal

on another note, if SEC play started today I think Coleman has looked really good and may push for that weekend Sunday role, this week is huge for starting pitching roles to shake out. Anderson will likely go against Rice and I would probably leave him in that midweek role for now.

And they've lost to FAU (not terrible), Dayton (not good), and Gonzaga (previously winless)

They have a hard midweek Tuesday (Indiana State), and a decent one Wednesday (Evansville), before heading to Houston to face 3 teams better than anyone they've played so far.

That's hardly a road game. UNC-G is barely a 40-minute drive in traffic from Wake.

I've been to that field. Not exactly a terrifying or intimidating atmosphere.

My point is that Wake Forest, while being a very good team that nearly eliminated us, had inflated offensive numbers last season because their park dimensions are incredibly small and that appears to be the case this season with limited data through two weeks.

In hindsight, it makes what their pitching did last season that much more impressive.

Can already tell this team is starting to gel. With glue guys like Milazzo and Travinksi, plus the whole Stony Brook weekend stuff, I can see this team making a run. Pitching will improve I'm sure as Jay solidifies the rotation and reliever roles.

None of this can be true. TrueTigerTale had 4 threads deleted this weekend telling me that this team can't hit.
