i see a lot of outsiders thinking they can come to NOLA and get away with just about anything short of robbery or murder....
frankly, on mardi gras in the quarter between two CONSENTING adults...who cares...
in this case, the kid was unconscious....and there certainly wasn't any consent...
it's a shame this moron couldn't be made to be a butt boy for decadence fest...he'd get the message....

Updyke, downing and their supporters sure aren't painting a pretty picture of Bama fans for the world to see.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not comparing the severity of the situations, but Bama fans are basically Muslims after 9/11.
It's only a fraction of those that do these things. Maybe so, but no one else seems to be doing them.
You can't comdem a whole religion on a couple of acts. Okay, but what about those that cheered in the streets and celebrated? Oh it's just a small minority.

It always chuffs me when people come to N.O. and behave in ways they'd never dream of behaving at home, and then have the gall to go home and tell everybody how backwards WE are.
The FQ smells bad? Well, guess what? WE aren't the ones pissing in the streets. We live here, we don't do that to our own home. That would be you and your ilk that come to visit.

two observations...
the quarter smells better in the last couple of years than i've ever remembered...SDT's magic mix in the street cleaning solution has worked miracles
you get these small town no drinking/smoking/dancing types into nola and in about 15 min on bourbon st will be second lining with a cigar in his mouth, a hurricane in one hand, and a hooker on his other arm....

Brian Downing is an idiot. His lawyers are even bigger idiots for letting him say things like that. I wouldn't hire either one of those guy to represent me for a parking ticket.
So the guy was passed out and would not have known other than post hoc. Big deal. I understand that Downing has a three month old daughter. What if she fell asleep and some guy came by and rubbed his genitals on the baby's face. She wouldn't know about it until years later if someone took a video and posted it on the internet. I wonder if Downing would be so nonchalant about a situation like that.
I had a modicum of sympathy for Downing, but it is fading fast.
