The screen pass for a TD by UGA really took the air out of Death Valley...until the kickoff!

I also remember Kirk Herbstreit saying after the game that the better team didn't win. I guess the Tigers proved him wrong in the SECCG.
He was right that day but LSU at the end of the season was a different team offensively then they were early in the season.

Was there as a 7th grader. I had long been a Tiger fan, but I will never forget that day. Forgot who the TE was that climbed the ladder for a grab along the sideline, but I remember thinking that ball was picked. We seemed to make all of those kinds of plays that game.
Tiger Stadium hasn't been much louder than when D. Green tried to a call a timeout and the ref couldn't even hear him and when DJ Shockley came out like a deer in headlights.

No, actually it didn't. That was the amazing thing. Immediately after that UGA touchdown the chants of "LSU! LSU!" started and got louder. That prompted the Mark Richt quote I cited earlier in this thread. It was amazing to be there.

Back when Tiger Stadium wasn't filled with corporate owned tickets and people went to the game for the game.

I heard David Pollack had a high motor in this game.

Still one of my favorite LSU games ever

Eric Edwards would be the TE you are referring to.

Had arrogant UGA fan at our tailgate that a friend brought. They felt they had zero chance of losing. Whiny little b*tch after the game.

Thanks for adding this to YOUTUBE, been looking for it awhile. Do you possibly have the 2003 SEC Championship game also? Would love to see that one also.

To show you how much Saban teams improve, that second game wasnt even close.
LSU stomped a mud hole in GA a$$

Saban had a perfect balance on that team. A great defense and a qb that just didn't make mistakes. After that loss to FLA, that team took it to a different level . The only game after that was the ole miss game that was even close. And the field had a lot to do with it. IMO the best LSU team ever.
