Once again, austintexastiger, you have made my day!

You can see me at the 9:18 mark. I am the Army-looking guy (because I was in the Army) with the high in tight, lower middle portion of the screen.

Drove from Ft Campbell, KY to Omaha, which is a little shorter than BR to Omaha.

This one has more footage from the whole CWS leading up to the game (Brad Hawpe vs Mark Prior...lol)

if I recall, Barbier also went ballistic in the dugout before the 8th inning. Stanford's pitching had been killing us all day long. And he tried firing up the troops and then went up there fouling off pitch after pitch (at least 6 and it felt like 10) until he hit that dinger. And then Whitten. That game was over right then when the ball went over the wall. We were stoked and they we deflated. It was awesome.

Yes, sounds like a line from a corny sports movie but didn't Barbier say to the dugout "DO YOU BELIEVE?!" Then he fouls off like 5 pitches, one of which was like 10 feet to left of the pole. I was like, damn, that would have been huge. Then a few pitches later he hit it nearly to the same spot but to the right of the pole. That was a senior willing the team to a win. Epic.

Thank you for posting this.

Of my 4 trips to Omaha, (97, 00, 03, 04) this was my favorite. In 97, my group had to leave after our second game because several of us had to get back to work. In 03 and 04 we went 2 and BBQ, so 2000 was the only time I was there to celebrate with the rest of the LSU fans at Barrett's.

We left Baton Rouge with only general admission outfield tickets, but after Clemson got eliminated, I scored tickets behind first base, 2 rows in front of Brad Cresse's dad.

I felt so sorry for Mr. Cresse because Brad was having a terrible series batting, and to make it worse, every time Brad came to bat, some jackass reporter would come up to his dad and ask some bs questions about the hitting slump. I was so happy for Mr. Cresse when Brad got that last hit.
