I work with a guy from Ohio who is a big OSU fan who I asked about Burrow before he decided on LSU, he said he is a passer and is what OSU needed the past couple seasons instead of Barrett.
I was thinking this was interesting but then the thought was tempered when I remembered the LSU fanbase and our obsession with backup QBs.

I'm an OSU fan but wanted to follow Burrow's career so have joined your site. I had the pleasure of watching him through high school and like many OSU fans expected him to take the reins in Columbus. You've got a good one. If you can protect him you're going to score a lot of points.The young man has an uncanny ability to see the field and accurately hit the open man.
Wish he was still here. Had to buy a LSU cap and shirt to wear when you're playing. Maybe I'll become a SEC fan. Hurts my fingers to type it. ?

ACTUALLY... it was YEAR FIVE.
Both Flynn and Russell redshirted in 2003. Randall/Jamarcus started 2004, JRuss 2005 & 2006 with Flynn getting spot duty and fill in for SEC-CG and bowl game when JR got hurt.
ETA: can you imagine a QB waiting 4 years these days??? Crazy self-entitlement.
