Everyone says this but I've yet to hear anyone mention a valid candidate

Be careful! He is not being paid just to be the football coach. As long as his teams are preseason favorties to win it all like this yr 3-1 bama was 5-1 and tv revenues along with total football revenues continue to climb. He will keep his job.
Throw in the graduation rates and very litte NCAA infractions and those were self reported, with this yr's recruiting class, job is secure
I hope everyone understands just how fragile a program can be? Do u think Michigan mightve wished they wd've kept Lloyd Carr, vs Rich Rodriguez. Won 9 games every yr but couldnt beat OSU finally upset the fans to where he had to go or did he? if it wasnt Michigan, and a very down BIG 10 the last cpl of yrs they wouldnt have bouced back nearly as fast. Miles will be tough to replace, other than game day mgt which is clearly a problem, he is one of the best.

Yeah all that's great but who's about to win a national championship for the third time in four years with a coach that's a dick? What's it matter to you if he's an a-hole and the players hate him? Unless you are directly effected by his demeanor it shouldn't matter. Would you rather be a fan of the defending national champions with a dick for a head coach or the fan of a Chick-Fil-A bowl runner up? And you guys act like players wouldn't run through a brick wall for saban and he wouldn't do the same for his players. Did it matter the way saban acted while he was at LSU? No so why does it all of the sudden matter now? When it comes down to it there's only one thing that matters, the win loss column and right now Bama is doing much better. And if you were a player wouldn't you rather win for an a-hole or lose for a "feel good" type of guy. At some point the competitiveness is gonna take over and you're gonna wanna win for an a-hole. At least that's what my mindset was.
HAHAHA GIANT TEXT WALL ONLY SAYS U MAD BRO

I consider Miles the Dale Brown of modern LSU football. Great recruiter, motivator and players' coach. Not so much of an X's and O's guy though.

I pulled for LSU football in the past because of the people and the state that supported it. Why the hell would anyone pull for a team irrespective of what the team is supposed to represent?
I pull for LSU because i grew up watching them with my grandfather and they're in my home state. i don't pull for LSU because of their fans. i care about the school and the team....i couldn't care less about the overwhelmingly vast majority of the fanbase.

Yeah, I'm not sure how anyone possibly bases their lsu fandom on the "fan base". Especially one that's proving to be as shitty as lsu's.

I would agree with that, but it is all about getting to the next level and winning it all. Saban does both. Les does one.

LSU Football has second to none facilities, its a great institution, they have beautiful school colors, and they have an excellent coaching staff. The amount of LSU Football players in the NFL demonstrates that. So the question is, with all the talent that has come to LSU and continue to come. Why does Les Miles only have one NC since he has arrived? Simple! It comes down to play calling. Not game planning and preparation, he has the troops ready to go! It's when the time arises for in game adjustments. (Offensively)....

When I meet a player I usually ask "who is the best player you've ever played against" or something lame about games in Tiger Stadium. With these 2 guys I asked them whats it like playing for Coach Miles.
1 guy answered and the other agreed with everything said "Coach Miles is a great man and great family man. I love playing for him. He is literally like a dad to 95% of his players. And I would run through a brick wall for him." "A high profile job like that will take some flack, but none of us care about what critics think."
like i said :inb4csb:
Just trying to add some insight on this boring Monday.
When did this happen? Because I can believe it if you are talking about early 2008.

I've ALWAYS been a negatiger and a Miles hater (well, mostly since JJ), but I would never even try to claim that he is not a great man. I've never even tried to claim that the players don't like him. I know he is one hell of a motivator and a damn good recruiter. No doubt a great man. He just sucks at gameday coaching & is not much of an offensive mind..
You cannot back this up with any proof at all. When players don't make plays you and so many want to blame the coach. It is so easy and weak to blame the coach.
Last year after we beat Bama at Bryant Denny I visited with a Bama Fan. He confided in me that if Bama lost a 3rd game in a row to Miles and the NC that he would question if Saban could get it done against Miles and LSU. Winning solves everything! But go ahead and be the bandwagon fan you seem to be. We have a great coach at LSU even if some fans can only see the light when we are winning all our games, then so be it.

The problem is that when you point this out some fans act like you've just pissed on a Bible and begin to tell you how Miles is the greatest coach of all time.
