IMO, if the player has done things off the field that are less than respectable and he is on the field, obviously the coaches have handled it in some way they deem appropriate.

I can accept your insightful logic. Cheer for your team.

I don't like the booing either but you will bring even more distraction to the game b/c you will be fighting every game.

I'm not a fan of booing college athletes period. One exception MAY be if the player makes an ill intended, malicious play -- see chaz ramsey a few years ago.

I've seen PLENTY of college ball players with the same egos and sense of entitlement who don't even come close to the NFL, so find another argument.

I don't have to; I don't boo kids. Period. And yes, there are egos in college athletics, but they don't touch professionals by and large...don't even kid yourself.

people were booing last year when lee got hurt, and I told the guy behind me to shut the frick up
better than cheering when he got hurt. although i'm assuming the intent was the same, in which case that is pretty sad. i would never cheer/boo if they get injured.

So now there are maybe exceptions?

I was agitated more by that than all of his pick 6s

HUGE difference between not performing to a fan's expectations when you are trying and intentionally trying to cause harm to another player.

I think you are the one kidding yourself. Many athletes have the BMOC syndrome. Just look at recruiting for crying out loud. Look at the egos there, and they aren't even in college yet! All the games and hat switching and playing one school off another. It's crazy.

Boo criminals, not players.

and for the record, I cited that example but I didn't even boo then, I was shocked for a while and just kinda shook my head.

There are more kids with huge egos in college than in the pros. The pro egos are blown out of proportion by the media. Plus they deserve to have a larger ego anyway.

Go visit a federal prison and stand in the middle of the prison yard surrounded by inmates and boo them. They did something wrong. Prove your manhood. Don't sit in the stands and boo some kid who is trying his best.

Notice I did not say here, "One exception when I boo may be if the player makes an ill intended, malicious play."
I stand by my comment that I don't boo kids, period because I never have.

I still don't think it compares to professional athletes though.
I would definitely agree with you there, I was just pointing it out b/c you used egos as a means to justify booing pro players. Regardless of how big a person's ego is, it's still an ego. And not all pro ball players have huge egos just like not all college players try hard and work their hearts out. It gets tricky when you paint with a broad brush like that.

I doubt anyone is paying $1500 per seat to watch convicts serve time though. Besides, the convicts are serving their time, not getting a free ride handed to them using the very money that we as fans pay to watch them play.
