You keep saying how WVU moved the ball on us to get close last year. You might want to check the stats, considering they only had 177 yards of total offense against us last year.

Jake, LSU plays a lot of teams close (UNC, West Va, Tennessee, Auburn, Arkansas, Alabama, Ole Miss, Florida, etc.) The main thing about LSU that's different from most other schools is that LSU tends to win the good majority of all of them.

I think your QB play will determine it and i think both Mettenberger and the other guy who played against us last year play. Like Florid did with Tebow and there other guy.

Just my two cents. Personally against us I'd rather see the other guy verses Mettenberger.

I am sick of you negatigers. All you do everyday is bash JJ for no good reason. Oh wait...you're a Mountaineer...nevermind.

I would pick Lsu for this reason, auburn, bama, and Arkansas all have new starting qbs. Our schedule should allow 1 loss which we will certainly have. We have the worst senior qb rotation in Lsu history but with a summer to work on them Steve Kragthorpe should be able to raise the preformance of Jefferson and lee to at least a C plus and that's really all we need, with our defense and power running game. There is no clearcut team this season Lsu is a solid pick!

just take a look at LSU under Miles against non conference teams and that should pretty much help you realize why many of us are confident we'll win

Bama is no more loaded than LSU. It'll all come down to "want".

You do know that Rich Rod spent 3 years at Michigan AFTER he left WVU, right? all of Rich's boys are gone...

Noel Devine & Jacques were Rich Rod types, & Stewart kept a large aspect of RichRod's offense intact there in Morgantown.

You DO realize that, right?

All of us checked out the Alabama spring game and came away impressed. The Tide is loaded.

So is Lsu, Florida, uga, auburn, etc....Bama is no more loaded than the rest of teams nationally that recruit top 10 annually.

Lsu will be more balanced this season imo. Bama will struggle on offense. They lost tons of offensive leadership.

If we start off 1-3 I think we lose 7 games next year. There are four scarier games on the schedule than MSU.

But we're actually going to start off 4-0, so I'm not worried about it

It depends if Lsu can win without a qb. We haven't had one in 3 years. If Mett gets some playing time the sky is the limit! We may even win most of our games in spit of our qb.

You do know the big east had a better winning percentage in teh bowl games than the SEC right?

Have you actually looked at the opponents and their records going into the bowl games compared to the competition the SEC faces in their bowl games? I have...its not exactly equal year in and year out...the SEC faces much more quality opponents in their bowl games than the Big East...

also...you do know the Big East is 75-120-11 against the SEC right?

We are a legit Top Ten team and so is Bama. Breaking in new QB's in the SEC will benefit us greatly. I think the Bama game is a tossup. People criticize JJ but overall he's a winner with a ton of experience under his belt. He's played in the biggest games but I think what will help us out is that both he & the coaching staff knows his limitations. I'm more concerned about the unproven players that haven't played an entire game and how they will respond to their new role. The SEC is loaded this year but who will win it all is a tossup. I like our chances but I never underestimated Bama even during the Shula years.

If JJ gets the minutes in 2011 he got in 2010, we will loose 2 or 3 games and will go back to the Cotton Bowl.

If JJ gets half the minutes (or fewer) in SEC plan than he got in 2010, we will lose 0 or 1 games and go to ATL and BCSNCG.

That is gospel.

No. I promise you that very few LSU fans even realize Rich Rod isn't there anymore. They think we're about to play Pat White and Steve Slaton. No one realizes that Stewart completely (and idiotically) revamped WVU's system upon taking over. With Smith at QB they've been much closer to the 3-4 WR spread shotgun attack at Oklahoma State than to Rich Rod's spread option attack.

Also, this no talent argument people are spouting off is just idiotic. Sure he won't have a dominant Justin Blackmon go-to guy but I could make the argument the other WRs at WVU are better than those at Oklahoma State.

I'm not gonna go on paper and say we'll lose (gotta see how we play Oregon first), but some of yal act like we're playing Troy. Why is it so hard for some of yal to grasp that we might lose on the road to a team who was atleast within striking distance against us this past year in our house when we lost the best player at every level of our defense (Nevis, Shep, Peterson) and will either be starting one of the most incumbent QBs in SEC history or someone with no starting experience while they have a QB who's started tons of games and just hired the best offensive coordinator in the land? Seriously what is difficult to grasp about that concept?
