TAKE ACTION: Things you as a fan can do to help save this program

Why can't we as a fanbase get Alleva and F.King removed?? Michigan fans rallied and got their AD ousted (Fire Dave Brandon Rally). Nebraska fired their AD mere days after losing to Northern Illinois earlier this season (Nebraska ousts AD after embarassing loss).
LSU FANS: Collectively, we can do this and affect real change at the top. Operation Take Back the Valley begins today.
It's well-documented that termination of both Alleva and F.King Alexander is completely warranted and way past overdue. These two gentlemen have single-handedly made LSU a national laughing-stock. LSU football is a $900 MILLION organization and there must be accountability. Between the botched and mismanaged firing of Les Miles, the sham of a coaching "search" last year, a fiscally and ethically irresponsible contract given to a coach with no leverage, countless irrational and emotionally-driven poor decisions, and multiple national PR disasters that have embarrassed our University and State, these two have done enough damage to this University that very well could take a decade to recover from.
Things you can do to help:
-Stop auto contributions to TAF today (I recommend stopping contributions via email info@lsutaf.org with email CC'd to board members below)
-Email and call the board as much as your time allows (contact info below)
-Do not attend upcoming home games
-Do not buy another piece of LSU merchandise
-Talk to your powerful friends and legislators and put the BOS on notice
-Keep pressure on the media to ask the tough questions and demand accountability
-Use your social media accounts to spread the word and demand accountability
-share all these national articles, some of which i have posted below, that are bringing to light the awful decisions of our leaders
-petition for democratically-elected BOS appointments by the alumni association like other major universities
-If you know the governor, tell him this is really none of his business and he better get on board with us or stay out of our way
-If you know the LSU BOS members, put them on notice that investigations of ethical violations and conflicts of interest are coming on them as individuals. Every person that signed off on the $12 million buyout will be investigated for breach of their fiduciary duty.

Hayride: 5 reasons Joe Alleva has to be removed
But for the LSU fans clamoring for Orgeron’s head, here’s an item of caution – you’re putting the wagon before the mule. The last thing you’d want to do is to pay Orgeron a $12 million buyout – yes, a $12 million buyout – without doing something about the man who hired him.
That would be LSU’s athletic director Joe Alleva, who might well be the worst AD in the country and from whom all these problems have flowed. Alleva has to go, and immediately, so that LSU might have a decent chance of putting its house in order.
Here are five reasons the LSU community shouldn’t have to put up with Alleva for one minute longer, and we won’t even get into his role in the Duke lacrosse scandal which should have barred the door from his ever being considered for the job in the first place.
quote:
USA Today: LSU's flawed hiring of Ed Orgeron
But rather than take a breath, hit the reset button and start the coaching search for Les Miles’ replacement all over again, LSU was humiliated and went into panic mode. The next morning, on Nov. 26, Alleva called Ed Orgeron and offered him the head coaching job.
Ed Orgeron. To be the head coach. Of the LSU Tigers.
But wait, it gets worse. Not only did Alleva hire Orgeron, he gave him a real SEC contract worth $3.5 million annually with a buyout of $12 million if the school were to fire him after this season (dropping incrementally each year).
There were two problems with that. First, hiring Orgeron is ridiculous enough. Though it was a decade ago, his tenure at Ole Miss was a train wreck of legendary proportions, so handing him the keys to a top-10 program was reckless at best. Some people are good assistants but bad head coaches. Everyone who watched the Ole Miss debacle saw that Orgeron fell into that category.
quote:
Football Scoop: What was Joe Alleva thinking when he offered this contract?
As detailed by Ross Dellenger of The Advocate, Orgeron signed a 5-year contract worth $3.5 million per year that is heavy in incentives and security for the coach.
Should LSU fire Orgeron without cause after the 2017 season, the school would owe him $12 million. That number drops to $8.5 million in 2018, $6 million in ’19, $4.5 million in 2020 and $1 million in ’21.
While Herman had options, Orgeron had none. LSU competed against itself for his services. Serving as the head coach of his home state’s flagship program was Orgeron’s dream, and he weighed that option against….. being a defensive line coach again?
In Orgeron’s mind, the LSU head job against other options available to him at the time was a see-saw with field mouse on one end and an elephant on the other. This means that, on that same see-saw, LSU was the elephant at the negotiating table and Orgeron was the mouse. Joe Alleva and company had every available molecule of leverage.
And the end result was a contract where LSU assumes all of the risk

Sounds like a good plan. Is the fan base really ready to rumble?

Empty seats are the single best thing the average Joe can do . Don't sell em either, just take the hit . The visual of empty seats contrasted against the score on the scoreboard is pretty powerful.

The Governor, along with F.King, were the two main players in bringing Miles back in 2016, neither of which should have ANY say in LSU athletics.

You need other elements as well. Social media blitz and coverage
Posted on 10/1/17 at 3:54 pm to jlc05
added social media, didn't even think about that because I don't use FB and twitter much, but absolutely great avenues to demand action
Posted on 10/1/17 at 3:57 pm to jlc05
Oh yeah I agree completely. But there is something about an empty stadium and the attention that gets that makes it so important.

F King is even worse for the academic side than he is for athletics. And you can always support a different Dem if you're not a fan of Republicans.
