Hey all and Happy Thanksgiving. I’m not sure if this is the right board for this so Admins please move if not.

My questions is, what is this rule about not having generators at tailgates? When did it start and is it being enforced? We have a super quiet inverter generator to run a tv and we’re just wondering what kind of trouble we might get in with it?

We haven’t done a big tailgate in a while and don’t want to get jammed up by the 5-0. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I've never seen anyone get told anything about a generator. Just don't have it by walkways or where it's near people, and your good. Only thing I've seen enforced is charcoal grills for disposal reasons.

Especially since yours is inverter, have nothing to worry about. Geaux tigers

No one will tell you anything. See big gas powered generators out there all the time.

We ran a 2200 watt inverter and it was super quiet. I’ve walked by ones much louder that run several sets of equipment in some areas but they have been up year after year. I know the rules say not to have them but no one cares. You’ll be fine.

Get you a jump box with a/c outlets. Much quieter and easier.

They had a ban on grills during burn ban due to drought .. it was lifted .. btw if you forgot yours some person decided to leave theirs do one sitting in the enchanted forest ..
No issues will happen with your generator..

You are thinking of the exhaust rule for generators in the RV area? Because those big vehicles are all parked in such close proximity, there is a rule that all generators have to have exhaust pipes that go above the top of the RV's. It's so everyone isn't breathing exhaust fumes. No rules that I know of in any other areas.

Generator Police ????? here and yes I will shut you down baw as I’ve done to hundreds of folks, plus I confiscate all generators that I shut down. I will however accept a picture of Ben Franklin to perhaps look the other way. See you Saturday

We’ve been in a burn ban for most of the year, do you live under a rock?

Well he said “for disposal” reasons and that’s what I was questioning smartass.
