To be fair, though, the article is talking about Nicholson, I don't take Nicholson.

congrats the plan worked for an easy game. The real test is miss state and alabama

But it didn't. Go read the contra flow thread on the O-T. Still a giant cluster.

This wasn't a LSU employee saying this either.

Thanks for da link!!! That sounds great...guess I will just have to wait at tailgate until after the pedestrian area opens back up to head back to hotel after game...

If you're not going to the game, you shouldn't be there.

wow you can GFY

I guess you also don't realize shite will get stolen if only people that went to the game tailgated...it also wouldn't be as cool of a tailgate atmosphere.

Not entirely on topic, but definitely related, I was told last night that they are planning to build a new TAF facility on the old Box site instead of a parking garage. Is that true?

It's part of the long term plan. Now that the NCAA has removed meal restrictions, the next facilities arms race is going to be over the top dining facilities for the football team. The plan is to put LSU's in that old box spot.

Traffic was flowing better than it ever has on Nicholson.

I should hope so considering the stadium was at most 1/4 ful in the 3rd quarter.

Glad you grabbed a credible 3rd party with no agenda.

The quotes used in the article are from both BRPD and Louisiana State Police. Who would be more credible in this situation? Would you rather a mass email from the Athletic Dept? Of course not.

Some of you bitching seemed to expect no traffic at all. That's not realistic. The side streets leaving campus will have heavy traffic. There is simply no way to avoid that. The point of the traffic/parking changes was to get everyone out of the small area around Tiger Stadium as fast as possible.

Apparently a lot of the people who typically just show up to tailgate stayed away. Hopefully it's the start of a trend.

realistically we should wait until a game isn't over after the 1st quarter to judge how traffic will flow because of the new parking rules

So their "experts" in traffic basically just reduced tailgating and fricked up traffic even more.

the nicholson closure was a police idea and decision.

I have a hard time believing the Nicholson tailgate crowd will stay away due to that area being shut down. Typically, some of the rowdiest (and in some people's opinion, trashiest) tailgates are in that area. Lots of plaid shorts and white sunglasses if you catch my drift. Are those bros going to stay home? Doubt it. They'll set up elsewhere.

RIP Ole' Front 9. That shite is going to be clusterfrick come SEC play

The only reason it succeeded was that the game was over at half time and 2/3 of the fans had already left by the end of the game.

i left at halftime along with a sea of other people.

The parade grounds seemed significantly more crowded. I'm assuming a lot of them moved there.

Didn't they just build an Athlete dining facility to the back of the football practice facilitieS?

There were more fraternities out on the parade grounds on Saturday. Normally that changes when they all get MIPs but I didn't see any ATC people out there this weekend.
