Win out in the SEC this year and this win doesnt matter in the least.

Just like the others, I agree with you. But this year, with LSU starting so low in the polls...I don't know that being a one less SEC champ still guarantees you anything.

I cannot even begin to imagine the meltdown on this board if UNC somehow wins this game. I obviously hope it doesn't happen, but this might be the biggest meltdown since Joe McKnight picked USC.

this game won't make or break a NC run. We have a few higher profile games on the schedule.

In '08 bama started around #22, a month later they were #3. Win in the SEC and you're in...bottomline.

The big concern is that this game won't tell us much. If our offense is decent, is it because our offense has improved, or is it because UNC was playing without half its starters on defense?

Our offense was pretty weak against all manners of shitty defenses last year, so any improvement has to be welcomed regardless of competition.

Thanks.

This would matter if we were Boise State or another team that didn't play an SEC schedule.

a win against a weak UNC team is better than a win over ULL or somebody like that.

If LSU wins the game is still a positive - away game against a BCS team to start the year. Hell this year USCw is playing Minnesota and Virginia... neither of those teams are likely any good and they'll still get credit for beating them

And LSU has plenty of other good teams on their schedule to try and beat - WVU, Auburn, Arky, Alabama, Florida spring to mind

He just said theyre situation is "dire". And that a large number of players wont play sat. He's giving the impression that its even worse than we all thought. If that's possible

When LSU runs the table, that will take care of the polls. If not, they don't belong in the MNC.

If LSU goes undefeated it won't matter, they'll jump everyone.

shite, if LSU loses a game and still wins the SEC it won't matter. Beating Alabama, Florida, WVU, Auburn, and Arkansas will make up for beating a less than whole UNC.

shite, did anyone cry about Alabama beating VT without their stud RB last year? frick no

Assuming we are good enough to worry about the polls' obvious impact on the MNC game,

If we are 12-0, 11-1 then we've either beaten UF and Bama or lost to one of them. The polls will reward us accordingly without regard to whether or not UNC was at full strength
