We just got fricked going to Corvallis!!
If we would have been sent to FSU instead of MSU, we would likely be in Omaha now.
The committee just fricked us!

This is the big thing about tournaments, especially how baseball is set up.

If you don't earn yourself a national seed, you are at the mercy of the committee and luck. There were a handful of regionals that, in hindsight, I think LSU may have been able to win, but LSU was sent thousands of miles away from home into a buzz-saw seeking revenge.

LSU was 0-2 vs. Oregon State
unfortunately, that's the only ones that mattered.

I’m not a betting man but I’m 95 percent sure the person that started this thread is ok with participation trophy and must have a couple in his or her (trying to be politically correct) room at moms house. Second place was designed to make the loser feel better.
or, you know, the person might just be looking back on the season now that it's over.

BTW when you're running an ongoing program, there's more than "winner" and everyone else. Oregon State didn't win last year, but had a damn good season and returned a lot of people. There was no need to blow things up, they just built on what they had. They very well might win it all this year.

We didn't have the overall record or the consistency, and playing Oregon State showed that we have holes to fix. But we weren't "didn't make the SEC Tourney" bad, and we did perform well head to head against the top teams; and this was one of Manieri's worst seasons here as far as record.
The takeaway isn't a "participation trophy" like you so mockingly say, it's that we're not that far off the pace, and should have a much deeper team next year.
