Golfer's "hated things from the student section":
1. Beachballs
2. the wave
3. the woo on the second down cheer...
Whoever started that shite two years ago needs to be shot...

Does anyone else hate the "woo" that has been added during the second down cheer? I'm a senior and that wasn't happening my freshman year and I refuse to do it.

The students need to police the students. It's a school. Schools have students. The reason you have a school is to educate students, not to field a football team so aging guys trying to recapture their youth have a place to go on weekends. I'm 47. I love the Tigers and root for them. But college is for the students. Let them be students. Some will be good fans and represent the school with class, others won't.

i agree that alot of the students this year suck, which is bullshite because im a student and ive waited for a while to be in that student section so im making the most of it... staying untill the end of the alma mater and screaming my head off on EVERY defensive down. i only got the half season package and some students i know who got tickets dont even know what a football is... give the student tickets to students who actually care.
a group of us brought up this idea to the SG when they started the priority points system for student tickets for bowl games. it was turned down:
they started the ID scanning to get into the student section w/ student tickets. well, same idea-but use it on the way out also. once the game/alma mater is over-start scanning exiting students. those students who remained in the stadium for the entire game & got scanned were to receive more points and thus be a higher priority/chance for bowl games student tickets. if they would have ever started that-i can guarantee you the student section would stay 5/6 or more full for the entire game.
also, had an additional part of the plan to include basketball and baseball games to the points plan for next season football student tickets. all lsu sports student attendance would have climbed exponentially.

We lost that privilege when someone added "you suck" to it...
Pretty sure it was the "You suck, Cocks" used against South Carolina last year.

1. You pay ESPN so they dont have 5 minutes of commercials, and we wont do shite because we're bored. With that said, I did not participate in the wave in the first quarter. It was cool against North Texas because we were up by a lot but no one was participating in it this time around.
2. I don't know what game you went to, but that stadium was pretty damn packed all the way through. No, it wasn't a Florida 2007 packed but I was actually impressesd. Did you not hear the student section when Miss St. was on the 1 yard line for 3 downs?
3. The beach ball thing last year was a 4th quarter thing, which was cool but I agree its a bit insulting to do it in the first. However, I did notice that a beach ball travelled all the way from the student section to the East side. So, don't just bitch at the students.

i had the exact same though a few weeks ago.. some people swipe then dont even go into the stadium or are gone by the 2nd quarter, but i still dont like the idea of soccer and softball games counting for football and i think away games should count for more than all of them being equivalent of 1 home game

That was the tipping point...band started playing over it a few games before that.

which was actually funny, and it was a shame to see the band administration punish the students for their creativity

well, the Ath Dept had to include soccer and women's bball and all of that to increase attendance/concession sales for them.
but i completely agree away games should count double or at least something more. i went to every away game i could. only SEC game i haven't been to is lsu @ usc(e).

A commercial is no longer than 3 minutes. Can you not hold a conversation with your group for that long? Or take that opportunity to go take a piss, grab some nachos, shite...

False, there were multiple games in which the beachballs were out in force in the 1st and 2nd quarter. One of those games being the Florida game.

that defeats the whole point
priority points dont' reward enough for other sports. if you're going to do priority points, then make the other sports count

naw away games should be privileges and not count for anything. it isn't financially feasible for many

i rarely wanted to talk to anybody i saw in the students section. most were positigers or people who knew more about teh cheers than football.

We always talk strategy, or who's having a good game, or look at the scores for the other games and our stats.

BESIDES IT LOOKS LIKE shite ON NATIONAL T.V.
I can vouch for that. My wife and I were watching on tv and noticed how quite and empty Tiger Stadium seemed to be last night!
