Struggles against lefties

The only reason I can think why we demolish RHP but suck against LHP, is that we see so much high level RHP in practice but over the past 3-4 years we’ve had barely any good LHP on the roster. A&M’s coach pointed it out about our talent against good righties, but it must apply for lefties too.

It’s because lefties are hard to hit.

Players coming up through the ranks see very few quality lefties. Their 2 yesterday are phenomenal left handed talents and we still had our chances, just failed to capitalize. Every team would have problems with those 2.

Where do we rank in BA against lefties only for the season? Is it any worse than oyher teams? Genuine question, because every team tends to hit worse against lefties.

Of course lefties are more difficult, but for a team with this level of talent, we shouldn’t be getting 3 hit every time we face them

We rank about middle of the pack, maybe bottom half, against LHP but our splits are about the worst of everyone. We hit 100 points lower against LHP than we do against RHP. Yes, we crush RHP, but we're still statistically below average purely against LHP.

And we scored 9, 12, and 6 runs last weekend. Hard to score that many on 3 hits per game.

Correct. We handled LHP fine yesterday, but wasted innings and at bats when we had chances to cash in.

If a lefty is getting the outside corner call, very hard to hit. We need to chill, stats says over time, right batter/ lefty pitcher is an advantage for the the batter.

My mistake. I just saw that their starter only gave up 3 hits yesterday. Didn’t realize we actually out hit them yesterday

Per a graphic shown on today's game one, we are batting .260 against lefties and .370 against righties. .260 is not horrible but the 100+ point disparity sure makes it seem worse than it actually is.
