This

Ans since one that holds the more weight is also an SEC team, hard to argue with the OP

But the ones doing the most arguing were also the ones that said JJ coming back would be the key to winning the BCS, so take their protests for what its worth. Roaad being the absolute worst of course

I wish you would write a letter to all of those players that busted their asses to go 13-0 and win the SEC Championship game and tell them that it is meaningless.

The ones that they or family members are being critical of Miles as they leave the program early? I'm not sure they give much weight to it either

We just won the game that decided the SEC champion they happened to win the game that decided the National Champion.

Yep. Great post.

It's hard to win a national championship. And they aren't all that matters. The bar has been set high in the last decade because we have been fortunate enough to achieve that prize twice. However, winning the SEC is a very special thing. It's a shame people say that it doesn't matter or that they won't remember it.

im not going to sit here and diminish an sec title or the regular season one bit. it was the best regular season in LSU history, by far

but at the end of the day, the crystal football is all that matters. ESPECIALLY if youre in the position that LSU was in all year long

Lee was interviewed at the all-star game. Talked about his LSU memories. Mentioned being at both BCS games. Never commented on being SEC champs this year. The year ended on a sour note, and few players are going to boast about the SEC championship

You're right. We go 13-0 and win the SEC championship every year. What was I thinking?

Boasting and meaningless are not the same.

We've sent your well reasoned, intellectually honest thougths to Mike Slive and he has agreed to do away with the meaningless SEC championship title. In fact, I hear he was so impressed he's thinking of doing away with the SEC all together. After all, what good is a conference whose champions are meaningless.

For the past 6 years the SEC champ went on to win the BCS. This year that did not happen. Why? Because a better team won the BCS

Which any reasonable person would say the OT win was a fluke. The real SEC champion was crowned on 1/9. Yes, we have the trophy, but as the OP says, but so does USC for '03. But few people recognize them as the best team in '03.

Few people will look back at this year and say LSU was the best team in the SEC. You know that. Time to accept it. You cannot say we were the best in the SEC with straight face

The OP is spot on

Stop with logic. They were the ones who were convinced that JJ could win a BCS title. Its futile.

We've spent a year arguing with these guys, and they still cannot see the falacy of that argument. Let them have their fantasies. Its all they have left after JJ blew up in their face

RobbBobb, can you remind me again how many times LSU football went 13-1?

You must not have read the Sporting News or watched ESPN that year.

The win on 11/5 was NOT, repeat WAS NOT a fluke. Bama and LSU both had their struggles but LSU found a way to win in the end. In Bama's stadium, no less. ANYTHING but a fluke.

LSU was the best team in the regular season and his the title / trophy to show for it.

Bama won the game that mattered most and they have their title and trophy as well.

I was proud of the Tigers and what they accomplished before Monday night. Monday night hasn't changed that in the least.

Walking thru the SEC throne room is important... I believe we've now done it 11 times in LSU history. That ought to tell you something..wake up.
