Malik Nabers had that kind of year last season, and in the FSU game. I’m glad the coaches kept trying to “make Nabers happen”.

The drops were passes that were poorly thrown.
Yep. I've made that point a couple times.
I'm more concerned with JD's inaccurate short passes than anything down the field.
There were prolly more but 3 or 2 times he was just off the mark enough for a catch to not be made and no first down was the result.
Those would be killers in the meat of the SEC schedule.

So true freshmen shouldn't make true freshman mistakes.

Maybe he just shouldn’t get as many reps as he’s currently getting until he’s ready. I’m sure he will get better and should ultimately be a good TE, but he’s obviously not ready for the fairly large role he’s playing today.

For comparison, would you say he’s doing as well as Campbell, Jones and Perkins are in their high usage roles as true freshmen? Those three will make some mistakes too, but they also look a lot better prepared to handle the workload. Not everyone is ready to play big minutes early in their true freshman season.

You can’t catch passes that are thrown way behind you or 70mph from 5yrds away. If Daniels threw with more finesse/accuracy Saturday night your post would be talking about how good Taylor is. Also, to be thrown into a different position on special teams for the 1st time in the middle of a game and be expected to succeed is ridiculous. He’ll be a stud, cut the kid some slack.

You should be happy he made that freaking play anyways cause if he didn’t we wouldn’t have been in position to score moron

He’s the best TE on the team. Half of the “Mistakes” you’re complaining about aren’t his fault. It’s not his fault Jayden threw him 2 horrible passes, it’s not his fault he was tackled half an inch in bounds on a MASSIVE freaking catch and run that kept us alive you idiot. You don’t know wtf you’re talking about so stick to watching and keep the idiotic takes to yourself

So put Mashburn and Kole in those spots in the big games and let Mason have his growing pains in games like SU and NMST.

I've seen Kole on the field, I've yet to notice Mashburn.

Is this verified to be true? Surely he practiced with the FG unit b4 being put in to block for the game tying XP w/No Time left on the clock in the 4th quarter of the 1st game of the season???

I call BS on that. There is no way BK would allow Polian to be that STOOOPID??

Go frick yourself a-hole. I’ll say whatever the frick I please on an open message board. Taylor is struggling as a blocker and only marginally more effective in that role than Kole Taylor, who we all know isn’t very good. Mashburn is without a doubt our best option as a blocking TE. This isn’t debatable. If you don’t see it, either you don’t want to for some reason or you don’t know what your’re looking at.

As a receiver, ANY of our WRs would be a better AND more experienced option for obvious passing situations. People keep talking about adjustments that Denbrock should make for the benefit of the offense. Do you really think we are better off with ANY of our TEs on the field ahead of Thomas or Bech (if healthy) as a 4th WR? If we’re facing a 3rd or 4th and 10+, do you really think we should minimize the strongest position group on this roster to arbitrarily keep someone from our hands-down weakest position group on the field?

At least one of those “bad passes” looked like it was to an open spot in a zone defense where Daniels expected Taylor to cut off his route. McElroy called this out on the broadcast and called it out as a freshman mistake. And we all saw him go stand out of bounds because he just didn’t know where he was on the field. I’m sure he’ll get better, but these are the definition of freshman mistakes.

And calm the frick down. I never said Taylor sucks, or that he shouldn’t play at all. All I said is that he isn’t as ready as some of our other true freshmen for the huge number of snaps he’s playing. Giving a few of those reps to a much better blocker and one of three better receivers isn’t unreasonable in the least.
