04: 24 - 20
08: 40 - 31

i don't see a blowout.

i will agree they should of never been down 31 - 3, but 04 should of never been down 20 - 17. It was a very sloppy game even more so then any other game this season, but the comparison is just a comparison of shitty play.

ok 2004

alexander 4* average
coleman 3* average
favorite 4* average
helms 3* good one
jackson 3* average
johnson 4* beast
quin 3* great
tremaine john 4* average
curtis taylor 3* average

lost wrotten, steltz, dorsey, chevis, hester, doucet, carter,

that is half of the 2004 class and some to me are a disapointment. I think some of the players miles recruited will end up being better at the respected postions.

Miles=saban

Debatable.

I think this has been shown to be false.

Very debatable.

True, but with no QB to throw to them, does it matter?

Again, maybe not so much.

One more thing...the '04 team had a bye week the week before they played Troy. The '08 team just lost an OT game to the #1 team the week before.

no way

keiland would start on 90% of teams in the NCAA and scott is a beast. maybe the best RB in CFB this year

again, scheme

any team will throw 5 yard passes against a 10 yard cushion

so you'd take 2004 LSU over 2008 LSU in a talent competition?

But our talent at key positions is very raw. DBs, LBs, QB.

No i think they are both even.

the 2005,06,07 are more talented by a little yes.

Like i said next year it should balance out.

1. 2004 LSU, as a program, was not established like 2008 LSU is. Saban was still building a program and it didn't have the depth to deal with losing 3 key juniors and a bunch of seniors. 2008 does have that depth

2. 2008 Troy DOMINATED LSU FOR 75% OF THE GAME. 2004 Troy kept it close in a sloppy game where we turned it over. at no point did 2008 get dominated by 2004 Troy.

considering your orginal argument.

A couple of points to make..

First of all...I think LSU really did have a hangover from that heartbreaker to Bama last week. The team just looked lethargic. I didnt really see much difference in defensive strategy after halftime, the guys were simply hustling alot more and looked alot quicker. The crossing routes were being covered alot better.

Second of all, this 2004 talent vs 2008 talent stuff is ridiculous. There simply isnt that much difference...and if teams like this year's Texas Tech, last years Missouri and Kansas, and previous Texas Tech teams can be great with 3-star talent, then it's really hard to nitpick whether or not our 3-deep had 4 and 5 star talent as opposed to 3-star talent. Who cares?

our OL will suffer a little, but that's about it. our DL will be fine, we have plenty of talent to step up.

meanwhile, our secondary is going to be SICK, and Lee will be a lot more poised next year.

Complete fail. This is like the third time you have said this. STOP!!!

At anypoint in LSU's career, it should NEVER be a close game with a Sunbelt team. So stop with the rebuilding bullshite!

i dont understand how they dominated us in the 2nd half at all.

they scored a TD on the first drive, and had like 1 first down the rest of the 2nd hal

75%???
