LSU would've likely had the best pitching staff in the Coral Gables Regional even if you took the best hurlers from each of the other 4 participants and made an all-star team. Stony Brook will score...LSU will score more.

I agree with everything Subby says except one. LSU fans haven't shown any disrespect to Stony Brook that they don't also show to everyone else who plays the Tigers in every other sport. No one is getting down on Stony Brook because they are Stony Brook. They are getting down on Stony Brook because they are playing the Tigers.

they'd be just another of the 297 Division I baseball programs if they weren't playing us this weekend

it would be a good cinderella story if they were playing anyone else though...

Stony Brook University, a part of the State University of New York system, is a public institution that was founded in 1957. It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 16,342 (about 2/3 the size of LSU), its setting is suburban, and the campus size is 1,454 acres (about 3/4 the size of LSU). It utilizes a semester-based academic calendar. Stony Brook University's ranking in the 2012 edition of Best Colleges, National Universities, is 111 (LSU is 128). Its in-state tuition and fees are $6,820 (2011-12); out-of-state tuition and fees are $15,230 (2011-12).

I would like to see a comparison of in-state and out-of-state tuition as well.

TIA

New York is known for amazing amateur baseball.

And many of the kids recruited by Stony Brook weren't playing some crappy AAU ball against other wealthy kids whose parents are all about travel ball. Many play in the spanish leagues around the Bronx and Brooklyn. These kids will be ready to play.

You ever been to NYC is August? It is not much different than weather down here. BR just gets a much longer stretch of the misery.

Yeah. But if they were really legit we'd be able to chose their icon in the "fan of" box in our avatars. Since they are not listed, I've concluded that they must necessarily suck.
