He would be a good jump ball receiver. He has really good ball skills.

The announcers the other night said he would be going on both sides of the ball next season.

I mean I'm sure it was a well intentioned promise and a personal goal when he was a high school recruiting. I'm willing to bet the closer we get to him being a top 5 pick in the draft he won't be about it anymore.
We're in the era of "business decisions" where guys are sitting out bowl games to avoid injury. I can't see Stingley continuing to be willing to play both sides and take on the additional hits and risk. Just my thoughts.

Well, he definitely has the ball skills for it.

Yes you did he will play some both ways next year

This is NOT what Coach O just said recently. He will get snaps on the offensive side of the ball some next year.

Ok, I missed that. The first time it was brought up in a game (I think it was Florida) the announcers said Orgeron promised him junior year. I guess we'll see when ESPN or CBS got it right.

O promised that he'd play WR his sophomore and Junior years.
I heard just his junior year, but O saying he’d play both ways is apparently true.
Coach O did say in an interview that he promised his father that he would play CB only for the first two years and some WR as a junior. I think Gary Danielson mentioned him playing WR next season during a broadcast and it became the gospel.

Probably not full time, but I bet he will have a Charles Woodson type role getting some packages on offense. He will primarily be a DB and KR.

If he's better than Chase, Marshall, McMAth etc then I'm all for it. If we are doing it to stroke Stingley's ego then I think it's a terrible precedent to set.

pretty sure its not to stroke anyones ego. They must feel he can be an additional weapon on offense and is just that dynamic a player. He was put at punt returner as a true freshman so that shows they have a lot of confidence in him, and why wouldnt they?

It was definitely part of getting Stingley here.

I'm not disagreeing with that, but it has been discussed everyday. Everyone is on the same page, but we don't need a daily thread about it.
