if you leave lee in and let him run the offense it takes away from the predictability of the play calling....if you want to add a wrinkle put shep and ware in to run the zone read...otherwise known as JJ's package....JJ is not a zone read QB...he looks more like a drop back passer....he just cant pass....he is not a fluid runner....shep and ware are...and hell, both throw better then JJ....

Lee could benefit from Offensive Line play that gives him some time back there.

I think that JJ could also. That is the biggest problem is lack of pass protection and lack of coaches calling plays that could help this. This has been the problem for the last 2 years and they couldn't call plays that were to Lee's strength his RS freshman year.

The coaches don't do much to help a qb and when they actually do call decent plays, we either have a wr dropping passes or players getting stupid penalties.

I don't give a crap what some guy who has watched only one LSU game says about the QB situation. He couldn't be more wrong.

What killed Lee on Saturday was the play-calling. It was horrendous. LSU never attacked downfield until it had to. Plus we abandoned the run when Lee was in. When he's in, we should run more because there will be fewer defenders in the box. Of course, playing the 2nd half with a sprained throwing wrist didn't help either.

Mandel's a tool.

Miles played on the O-line, and supposedly he can't coach them or recruit the right ones to allow his quarterbacks time to throw the ball, yet he instinctively knows this and this is why he has been starting Jefferson all year.

Either that, or he just doesn't know what the hell he is doing.

I'll take B Alex.

How did LSU end up in this QB predicament?

Part 1 - Perrilloux kicked off team.
Part 2 - JL forced into duty too early and becomes Mr. Pick 6.
Part 3 - Shep is a bust as a dual threat QB.
Part 4 - JJ disappoints.
Part 5 - Zack Lee leaves for Dodgers.
Part 6 - JJ and JL dual QB flip flop.

The head man. He has a want to recruit a damn strong QB...who will actually play at LSU!

This is silly. 1 game where JL can't pull a game from the depths of a sure loss and he is crowned as not being able to get it done. The media is so fickle. I wonder if SM thought the same way after the UT or UF games.

Using his logic, I can name planty of QB's that got their azz handed to them so apparently they are not any good and is not the solution. Bama came out in the 2nd half and beat the brakes off Mallet, I guess he is not the solution at Arky. For that matter, UK concussed Tebow, I thinkk he worked out aiight for them though.

Do we have an all world QB? Hell NO! Can JL be used as a VIABLE QB? Without a doubt. JJ should be brought in as a situational QB as well. There also has to be downfield passing attempts if for no other reason as to keep the D honest. If you only throw to the flats and short passes, D's will stop defending deep stuff and clamp down up close.

We need better playcalling and more creativity on offense.

I really think JL can be a great QB. Mobility? Is McElroy more mobile? I wouldn't think so...I think JJ runs a lot because maybe he gives up on idea of passing it, does JJ go through reads? Doubt it

Hope Miles sticks with one QB the entire Alabama game. I don't care which one it is at this point, none will ever develop any game rhythm with the substitution pattern and idiotic play selection.

I am really getting tired of the same problems, the same discussions week after week. It's no longer speculation that Miles "doesn't get it" or "doesn't see it," it is known fact that Miles doesn't. I have little doubt that after the Bama game we will be here rehashing the same discussions.

Spencer Ware threw a pass that was awfully underthrown and the WR had to make an adjustment, slow down and come back, then fight for the ball. It was a TD but it was all on the WR for making the play.

Please stop saying that he made the BEST pass of the game. Also the play ONLY worked because it was assumed that he was running the ball. Why do many people act like they don't understand that?

I'm not saying anything in regards to his overall ability to play QB, I haven't seen him at the position. I would like to add that I fully understand why RS is not in at QB. He didn't even know he was suppose to be on the field for that 4th and 6 play.

AJ Green no doubt has a better QB getting him the ball but he also makes AMAZING catches = catches that he has every reason to drop but somehow does whatever it takes to pull the ball in no matter what. It sure makes Murray look like a better QB than when Green was out. I think you guys know what I'm trying to say here.

this is one of the most ignorant arguments you will ever hear on here. There is absolutely no way the coaches can tell whether a highly recruited qb will pan out. All of the coaches that you may consider elite coaches, I assure you, have misjudged talent very badly in terms of qb.

This is what happens when you analyze a team based on one game. By no measure, statistical or otherwise can we look at this years games and say that the offense moves the ball better with JJ. It's not even debatable. This is akin to never seeing Drew Brees play until yesterday and concluding that the guy needs work.

After covering an LSU game,I can now see the "wisdom" in Les Miles' two-quarterback system. The Tigers' offense runs more fluidly with Jordan Jefferson because of his threat to run (he carried 16 times for 74 yards).

lol...dudes got it all figured out. He isnt getting paid enough.

LSU is smart going after Mettenberger for 2011. JJ and J. Lee need to enjoy their playing time the rest of this year. After next spring they'll be carrying clipboards and wearing headsets during the games.

I will eat my hat if Les sits JJ next year!!!

We really don't know this because he was never allowed to throw the ball and only went in as qb to run some plays.
