Once we find out what's really up it will be easier to understand.

I don't hate Steele. I just think he isn't the right fit for LSU.

Do you people just want Orgeron because he's a Louisiana guy that can croot?

You realize he's been an absolute failure when his systems were in place for a defense? Like all-time bad failure?

But you wanted/expected Steele to be a DC or Miracle Worker?

who said anything about being a miracle worker? how about not allowing 24.0 points a game against a schedule that included a stretch of 4 backup QBs.

No offense. I thank you for sharing this info, but frankly, I couldn't care less. :)

Thanks to Chavis, court docs tell us who LSU looked at last year besides Steele.

quote:

During his search for a defensive coordinator last January, LSU coach Les Miles met with Wisconsin defensive coordinator Dave Aranda, Penn State’s Bob Shoop, Oklahoma’s Mike Stoops and Georgia Tech’s Ted Roof. Miles considered 21 more candidates for the position that he eventually gave to Kevin Steele, then the linebackers coach at Alabama.

Ole Miss.

He took over their defense. And it was BAD.

USC was not his defense when he became interim. They had a DC.

The problems at ole miss weren't really defense it was changing the offense and in 2005 and 06 they were the worst offense in football.

Bill Belichick was not a good HC with the Browns. Maybe O is better prepared to be a DC

How would this affect recruiting one month before signing day? I'm not a huge Steele fan, but usb5 he supposed to be an ace recruiter?

Look, I love O as DL and recruiting coach. He's PERFECT for that role.

When it comes to implementing and executing a complicated defensive scheme in the SEC West, LSU needs to get a top of the line DC with tons of experience in the role.

Clancy Pendergast, Bob Shoop, etc.

We aren't the right platform to see whether or not Orgeron could be a good DC. We need someone we know ALREADY IS.

Please don't compare Ed Orgeron and Bill Bilicheck
