LSU pitching had a good stretch but been garbage recently..down 3-1 b1..check that 5-1 another HR..Beth needs to fire herself as pitching coach .. the most overrated pitching coach in the country..pathetic

The head coach sets the culture not anyone else..Sandy played when it was tough to play at LSU not anymore

In recent weeks the team seemed to have turned the page, we just dropped back a chapter or two. Beth Ball is back.

They read too many articles, too many Doucet interviews and too many canes tweets. What’s funny they are a good team not anywhere close to elite and they walking around like they elite. Again , the head coach sets the culture for better or worse and it’s definitely worse

Hodge running up to the pitch like she's going to do something as a batter then proceeds to let 3 straight - right down the middle - strikes slowly breeze by her.
What a pathetic excuse for a bat.
Still just need to win one at Miss. State this weekend and two next weekend at home to host IMO.
But, yeah, the pitching the last two weekends have been awful.

The offense and pitching has been bad, body language bad, this team definitely takes on attitude of Beth at times, do they look like they playing with passion ? They did vs SC, OU, OM but not this weekend..not sure what’s changed

I''m starting to think Beth doesn't want to host after last year's performance. I think she would rather travel in the regionals so if they lose, only family members are there.

They are just not a good softball team. Not enough talented strong softball players......just a bunch of little girls who can't hit with enough power to beat teams how we got beat these last 2 days..........3 run homers galore

That’s not it at all, they had more home runs than OU when they played and several other teams…In conference play they are 6th in home runs with all those little girls

I haven’t watched every game but I’ve watched a lot of them and when it comes to hitting , I’m shocked if any of the 6-9 batters get a hit . What’s happened to Bergeron?

When I went up there 2 years ago to watch Kelly pitch for OU vs UH, Gasso wasnt a happy camper even though they swept UH.
In game 2 she started 4 different players (Hodge was one of them) ans 3 were hitting over 400 just like the starters. After the game, I heard Gasso on post game radio say if players don't respect the game, they won't see her field. So I asked a different parent at dinner and it was confirmed that she benched them for attitude issues...
After the final game which they won 5-0, Gasso was again griping about situational hitting and some players being selfish. She then promised the fans that she will make sure they fix their issues soon and it will be OK.
I'm not comparing Beth to Patty one bit, because Patty is one of the only head coaches who can do that. She's one of a kind and before you start saying we should hire her, don't... I have a lot of sources that give the feeling that she will retire after she coaches the Olympic team.

Agree!! I think she retires next yr prior to the Olympics . I’m not comparing Beth to Gasso, every coach is different but the culture at LSU isn’t great and I have that by a very connected person. I know you have great knowledge as well so I would like your insight if you care to share!!

I know you weren't comparing, but others were and I thought it was interesting to listen to her on the radio that weekend. She has spoken 3 times at my coaches conference in Houston during the past 23 years and she is so easy to work with. I wish there was a way to message on this site as I normally don't post my email here.
