We've had issues at QB for the last 3 years. We've also played Bama, Auburn, Florida for the last three years. We've played big time games the first game of the season away from home for the last three years. What's your point? This is nothing new.

LSU better be well prepared hand have their substitution packages ready....

We should be ready. Remember LSU has two former safetys playing LB(Hatcher and Francois). These guys can cover without substituting. We shouldn't have to sub too often.

Can't donate brain cells to the kid and accuracy is not easy to correct. Look at where our passing game has ranked in the conference. You can't make a piece of shite look like the Mona Lisa. Piece of shite meaning our passing game which has been ranked like 13th out of 12 teams for the last two years.

So now he's stupid? Oooohhh... right. Because it can't be that Crowton just expected a young QB to pick up an overly complex system. Why don't you try teaching fourth graders calculus and then tell all their parents that they should ride the short bus?

You can with the right artist and the right tools. They made the pope out of a piece of shite, the Mona Lisa can't be that much harder.

You people are annoying as hell. You can't win an argument so you resort to this shite.

Most of us have our doubts, but are certainly ready to be surprised. We hope. ALL of us hope JJ improves since he will be the starter. Many of us are skeptical until we see the product on the field. It;s called common sense.

There is the young shite again. Is he still gonna be young next year. I doubt crowton taught him to take sacks on 4th down in desperate times instead of throwing the ball to a 6'6" receiver and hoping for the best. He has done that multiple times Florida 09 and Ark 10. Doesn't take a coach to figure that out. There is no point in arguing but after this season is over, maybe this talented team can reach it's full potential. Later jeffy.

I am certainly being cautious in my expectations of him. I am aware that NOTHING can be predicted of him. He could have an identical year to what we witnessed in 2010. He could have an identical year to what we witnessed in 2009. He could explode in 2011. It's a game of roulette.

That is common sense.

Where is the logic in asserting that he will have a miserable failure of a season next year while denying the other two possibilities?

He was young when he was thrown into the fire and expected to produce. The fact that Crowton expected Jefferson in his first year to pick up the playbook like Flynn in his fifth year is ridiculous.

Yeah... you'd make a great coach. Throwing a pick on your last possession is MUCH better than taking a sack.

You just lost all credibility if you had any. A pick doesn't matter if the time is running out and you are losing genius. A sack gives you no chance to make a play. Randall should have taken a sack instead of creating the bluegrass miracle right?

Wait... when did Jefferson ever take a sack on 4th down as the game expired?

1 min left and losing to Florida with no timeouts in 2009. Florida kneeled and won. And under 1 min against Arkansas 2010.

JJ was better his 1st year (as a starter) in this overly complex system you speak of;
which he was exposed to from the time he stepped foot on campus.

The problem i have is people just think in the extremes. Some believe no matter what this team will suffer solely based on the fact that JJ is starting.

the qbs have shown lil improvement over the past 3 years yet the team as a whole has. A lil better offensive output regardless of whether that comes in the passing game or running game and we will be a much better team. But we also need to cut out giving up the big play on defense that hurt us against aub and arkansas.

And by natural progression we should be better at almost every position except mlb and dt. I think we will be better as a whole in the secondary even with the loss of peterson. Brooks, and simon look ready to step up. We already know what we got with claiborne and tyrann, both of whom were underclassmen. And with a healthy taylor you got reid and loston battling for the other safety spot, once again both underclassmen.

3 leaders lost on defense, I don't care how talented the players are that's three leaders you have to replace.

LSU played 23 True or Redshirt Freshmen(This includes walkons) this past year. Thats a young team.

ETA: LSU has 54 players that have lettered.

This past year we had 6 returning starters on offense and 4 on defense, an still won 11 games.

We lost:
Brandon LaFell
Chad Jones
Keiland Williams
Charles Scott
Trindon Holliday
Richard Dickson
Harry Coleman
R.J.Jackson
Chris Hawk
Danny McCray
Jacob Cutrera
Lyle Hitt
Perry Riley
Rahim Alem
Ciron Black
Chris Mitchell
Al Woods
Charles Alexander

An still won 11 games.......
