You don’t count any day that a pitcher threw in a game in the days of rest. We’ve been over this repeatedly.

But what if he threw at 10:00 AM? That’s 8:00 AM PST.

If I am wrong I'll bump and call myself a dumbass. I just don't see Jay giving the ball to any of these guys that have not started a game all year with Eyanson relatively rested.

Throw eyanson tomorrow if it comes to that. Don’t use him today

Almost all the reasons that you stated in your post make more sense for him not to start.
quote:

would be able to turn around and start on sunday with almost full rest.

Full rest is 3 days?

quote:

If he can you 5 solid innings and we have the lead, you can piece together Cowan/Williams in the 6th and 7th and then Shores can take us home for the 8th and 9th.

Then why not let him come in after Cowan/Williams/Shores so you can be more certain that you aren't going to burn him in a loss?

quote:

Alternatively, you can use him in relief today to finish the game if it is close. If it is not within reach, you stack Eyanson/Anderson tomorrow to win at all cost.

Yep more reason for him not to start. And if he closes tonight and you win then you can either start him in the championship series, or use him to close 2 games in the championship series

…and then have neither Eyanson or Anderson for the championship series

He will only pitch tonight likely in the 8th and 9th inning IF we have a lead

I’d prefer him close it out for the last six outs

Then you can start him Monday to win it all

Going into a 3 game series against a well rested team that has won 25+ straight games without Eyanson and Anderson is a quite literally the worst case scenario.

My take is that he won’t start Eyanson…

But maybe controversially, I will agree with you that counting the hours straight between a finish and start makes more sense than ignoring the rest of the day after a game where someone pitched

Bumping to say I was wrong and y'all were right. We will be seeing Eyanson today though in a close game
