That's funny b/c not many people are allowed to watch practices. You saw Garrett look good against walk-ons in the Spring Game and projected his performance to fall ball and bowl practice.

NO ONE has any idea how Chris Garrett looks besides those that watch practice. And there aren't many with that privilege.

Why is it a big deal if he moves to Safety? He's been right on the cusp of playing...maybe changing positions is a good thing. The NFL like safety's with corner ability as well.

its not a big deal. Today's spread offense require your safeties to play more like corners anyway. smaller, quicker "cover safeties" are becoming more and more prevalent. same holds true for your OLB's, smaller faster more athletic LB's that can cover the slot and running backs out of the backfield..

agree with you Malaysian Tiger in this regard...i hope there is competition at EVERY position! and that the "best" players are put on the field regardless of how long they have been at LSU.

This. We have 9 scholarships to give away next year for what should be a class to rival what Florida put together this year, and perhaps could be the best in Louisiana history when all is done.

Cut the dead weight and let the best players play. We need to lose some schollies to get under the limit.

We have a year to make those numbers work. Open competition at every position is the easiest way to decide who is no longer "worthy" of their scholarships. While it is a harsh reality, those documents last only a year and can be revoked at any time after. Economics dictates that those players that work the hardest maintain theirs.

Place a phone call to Alabama, they're the experts on this, it seems.

I have it on good authority that Chris will be named 1st team QB on the AA team of college players who have never played a down of college ball but look great in practice when it comes out next week.

What news do you hope to hear coming from the pay site moderators
That RS is operating the Wildcat formation, and occasionally throwing a pass. That JJ is being challenged by Garrett. That the O-line is bigger and blocking/communicating better. That Blackwell and Lonergan are starters and Hebert is a backup. That the D-line is actually showing some push and making sacks. That Crowton has had a come to Jesus moment and is actually calling plays that play to our players strengths.

What news do you hope to hear coming from the Don, the Dandy one!
Not much, most of his news is of the cheerleader variety, not hard news.

and what do you WANT/HOPE to hear from CLM?
You can WANT all you want, but it will be the same bullshite as we have heard the last 5 years.

I hope to hear that the O-Line looks good from someone outside of the program. No blast on CLM's statement last year, but we need to hear from an objective source.

I'll do you one better. NO ONE has any idea how good Chris Garrett is period because he hasn't taken a single snap in an actual game.

You guys are experts at kicking up and recycling your own hype. That kid will probably not even be number 2 next year. We don't need another green QB "with intangibles".

That our OL is the best that he has seen.
That he certainly has a want to get RS more playing time.

I like CG, but I hope the best QB wins the job, regardless of who he is.

And I include JL in that.
